I agree, it looks like Green is going to be a really good player, but SOV despite your hatred of AT, isn't it time to let it go and remember he was the PG on a team that won an NCAA game. I thought AT hurt more than he helped the team, but I wasn't singling him out. To be perfectly honest, we haven't had a rock solid, dependable point guard since Torey Thomas. You're probably right that 40 minutes isn't nearly a big enough sample size to truly know whether Green is going to be the best point guard we've had in a decade, but I can't help to be very encouraged with what I saw in his debut. BTW, AT during our final six games of the 2017 season (four in the PLT and two in the NCAAT) was 8-30 3PT, 4-14 2PT, and had just 13 assists. Let's not act as if he was the reason we went on that magical run. We can thank Alexander and Champion for that. And Green and Charles. But I believe Thompson did hit a big 3 in one of those PLT games which allowed us to advance- Loyola ?

Anthony Thompson has as good a freshman year as just about any Crusader of the past 20 years. He had, in my opinion, the makings of a great player. Alas, his injuries (or other factors) changed his career trajectory in a very negative way. He just was not the same player as a soph- junior- senior.
That's ancient history now. In 2017-2018 im really excited about Caleb Green, Pat Benzan, and their teammates

Now that there's a "Milan Brown Thread - Now and Forever" thread, shouldn't there be a "Anthony Thompson - Now and Forever" thread as well? Along with every other former player/coach?
Or are the comparisons to past players/coaches only allowed when speaking negatively about past players/coaches to make the present players/coaches sound better?
Just want to make sure I'm following all of the rules to avoid trouble with any of the Board Sheriffs..

AT's missed 3-pointer vs Bucknell that Champion grabbed, dribbled out, and drained that fall away 3 was a great miss though. 😃

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Do I detect some doubt that that wasn't a set play?

hchoops—yes, Loyola with about 7-8 seconds to go in what was a tie game. If he doesn’t hit that shot, Loyola may well have scored in the last few seconds and the amazing PL tournament run may never have gotten started. If I remember correctly, we missed a 3 pt. attempt (Hamilton?) in the last minute before AT’s shot and got a rare offensive rebound to keep possesion until his final shot.

The offensive rebound you are referring to - with about 40 seconds left - was also credited to Thompson. That was probably as big a play as the three.

Matt Husek hit some big shots late in the Bucknell game. thus proving that a 5 game championship run is due to the contributions of all players
