I agree have watched a few Bucknell games and Sotos looks very good, in addition to good handle is an excellent shooter hitting 43% from three point land. At times it appears Bucknell is recruiting at a different level than the rest of the league, their senior class is as good as any since the origination of the PL. Szatko, Wilson, Whearty and Jerz are right there, esp with their game vs Marquette

also with their strong NCAA game vs Kentucky, the 01 class of Sankes, Curry and Pegues has to be there also

McCollum, Knutson, Greiner ? Admittedly, I had to look up who was in McCollum's class, but his two classmates were pretty good as well.

Muscala, Willman and Bryson Johnson very good as were Keith and Torey in what turned out to be a two man class

Muscala/Willman/Johnson all played professionally, too. Johnson is an assistant at Brown nowadays.

I’ll take Thomas & Simmons any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
A class that also included Joe Young and the kid from California (Joe Cramer?) who showed some promise before leaving the team.

I loved Keith as a player but his very poor effort against SIU was a horrible way to end his career, the Bucknell groups won legit NCAA games

McNaughton, Badmus and Brown ? Obviously a very strong class. The fourth member of that class, SF John Clark from Oklahoma, started ahead of Donald Brown as a freshman but had his career ended by the end of his sophomore years due to a chronic foot problem.

I loved Keith as a player but his very poor effort against SIU please don't equate results with effort, especially for one who often played in pain from cramps

Obviously not insinuating Simmons gave less than full effort in the game but even you must admit it was a dreadful performance by your star player in a game that was winnable.

not as sure how winnable it was do you know if Keith had cramping issues that game ?

A class that also included Joe Young and the kid from California (Joe Cramer?) who showed some promise before leaving the team. Josh Kramer left the school. I saw on the old board somewhere that he wound up playing D-II or D-III somewhere on the west coast

IIRC, he was Classmates and friend of my niece who said he was leaving HC to be closer to home. But my memory is rusty.

Kramer transferred to Concordia-Irvine, a powerhouse NAIA program, where he played regularly for three seasons. Believe he also played for awhile professionally in Germany

No Hoops I don't know if Keith was cramping that game if so couldn't have come at a worse time, is it ever possible on this board to admit someone didn't play well without raising the possibility of injury. As far as if the game was winnable down 5 at half and lost by 10 with virtually no contribution from best player, hard to say there was no chance to win, SIU didn't play very well either.

Keith had a well known history of cramping. I do not know if he was cramping then IF he was, it could explain one of his rare poor games I still contend the game in the second half was not winnable. Both teams played the same style They were better

I was at that game in Dayton and since I can't tell when someone has a cramp from the stands, my impression was that there was something wrong with Keith that game. He might have just had an off game but if I was told he was cramping up, I would believe it.
But agree totally with hoops that I was concerned before the game that their rep was they played the same style as us and we weren't going to fool them as we might have some other team. It was a question of execution and they did a better job. Simply put, the better team won that day. Just too bad it wasn't the Crusaders.

Last point Keith played 36 minutes took only 5 shots think SIU physical play took him off his game, in any event he was a great player for us and he's the caliber of player we need to get back to where we want to be.

SIU was one of those kind of teams (and maybe others thought the same of HC) where a 10 point deficit seemed like a 20 point deficit.
Merry Christmas all!

Thomas was 9-10 from the line and played whole game . Maybe he had an otherwise good overall game , but he was only 3-16 from the field against SIU.

Take away Eric Meister, and we were 8-36 FG. Thomas and Simmons a combined 3-21.
That Saluki defense was one of the best in the country that season.
