DBs were the biggest weakness this past season. Good to see them hopefully upgrade there. Can always use some big bodies up front.

Exams end on Saturday mid-afternoon and I think dorms close at 6:00 or 7:00 PM. Not an optimal weekend for visits. Fear not. Bobby Chez can work his magic under any conditions. He recently had a big group of recruits at dinner on Shrewsbury Street. He can still sell when school isn’t in session. Helps to know where to go in the city.

The staff give any guidance on the max number of recruits they are signing this year?

Keshaun Dancy is offeree #115. (HC to date has made 6 known offers to Massachusetts recruits; all 6 have now committed to other schools.) Just my speculation, but I suspect that as a result of previous commitments HC was no longer seeking to add more DB's to this recruit class.
Best guess on the size of this recruit class would be approximately 20. There were 22 seniors on the 2018 roster (which had the PL maximum of 90 players), but the number would change based on the number of 5th-year seniors who may return for a medical redshirt year and any attrition that may result from underclassmen who may transfer out or decide not to continue on the roster.

We had offered him also. Didnt expect to get him. Hard to guess class.sizes for PL teams. Expect you and us may have largest.Lehigh needs at least 20 just to stay at 80. We will have 1 5th yr with 22 graduating. We have quite a few PWOs and WOs. Some will leave. Some wont. Guessing game. 13 verbals so far.

Am I the only one concerned that we still haven’t heard anything official about the stud recruit(s) alluded to in the recent tweets?

There have been a boatload of commitments reported over the past several days, but interestingly, only a very few by recruits who have been offered by Holy Cross.
Signing day tomorrow, so I suspect many questions will be answered soon.
One interesting thing (which may mean nothing at all) -- WR Jordan Hull of Indiana (Lee Hull's son), who has not tweeted anything about Holy Cross for months, suddenly re-tweeted the tweet by Hunter Burns announcing his commitment to Holy Cross. Maybe it's nothing more than the possibility that they met during visits to Holy Cross -- but time will tell.
Another interesting note -- there are still around 10 HC offerees who are rated as 3* recruits and who have not yet (at least publicly) committed to any school. Now, given all circumstances, I think it would be great if we could land one of these recruits, and it would be amazing if we landed two, but it does show that HC is reaching out and not afraid to do some stretching.

Breezy (or anyone else) Can you explain how the coaching staff goes about making sure that they don't have too many commitments and/or the wrong mix of commitments? Do they pull offers at some point? How is that done? What is the timetable? Thanks

Hey alum, I know you asked this question to Breezy so I apologize up front for butting in. I only jumped in because I know someone pretty well who has been in charge of some major programs from the recruiting front (Purdue, Tenn, UNC, to name a few).
Basically the philosophy is if you don't offer you don't get them, which as you can imagine is why we have 176 offers out right now for 20 positions. Within those 176 offers it's hard to say what was offered (partial, full, etc.). The coaching staffs definitely ranks the offers by position - if they have 10 offers out to DB's they definitely focus on the top 3 and slow play some of the other ones because if they commit then they have to make a decision. If they fill what they need at a certain position by let's say October, and then someone wants to commit in November they can absolutely say - we no longer have a scholarship available for you, we have our guys, etc.
They don't necessarily pull offers (they certainly can if they want to), but they either slow down or stop communicating with a player and both sides figure that out. HC got three verbal OL early and we haven't seen/heard much of anything on the recruiting side for OLs - my guess is they focused elsewhere.

Brian Foley was on Honorable Mention Sophomore All America put out by Hero Sports. They only have a first team and then Honorable mention after that. Pretty impressive. Need to get to a point where we have more players on the Frosh/Soph All American teams put out by them - good publicity.

There was an offer just tweeted from Dominik Thomas from Buffalo, NY. No clue if this is the NY player Smith was referring to. I doubt it because Smith also references he looks good in purple and the RB Jordan Forrest played his high school fb in a purple uniform.
That said this is an offer we hadn't seen yet.
I don't see any other offers tweeted by him in the past. He looks like a WR/DB - 6'1 - 185.

We had a few frosh athletes last year that made some very good plays throughout the year (including special teams) and it looks like we are adding a few similarly skilled guys. Would love to see one of the incoming frosh have an absolute breakout year on offense in the PL - it is a league where that is quite possible.
Of course I am dreaming a frosh (or otherwise) QB with wheels/pretty good arm falls into our lap last minute and lights it up next year.

What do you think Butash is? The staff targeted/offered a small number of kids who fit the profile for what they want to do and he committed during the summer. It's not like they ran out of options and he was the last man standing. Clearly they see things in him that they know will be successful with in their offense and my guess is we will see him under Center early in his days in purple. Certainly possible or likely that a transfer will come in from a BCS school, but Butash is the guy long term.
