Northboro plows. We will likely be there a great deal next week or two.

For some strange reason, March 18 is listed as being in Worcester; next 3 home games after that are at Northborough (and were listed there a couple weeks ago, last time I checked).
Northeastern has turf. No clue where BC is playing this year; their new stadium isn't ready yet, I'm sure (their version of the Luth is going up where Shea Field was).

BC's new field is ready according to an article on their webpage dated yday March 11 - but that doesn't mean there will be a game obviously with the heavy snow forecast. Would have been sweet to try and know them off as they opened up their new ballpark

Typically, we are halfway decent at the one sport that has no future.....college baseball in the Northeast is on oxygen.

Seriously, a foot or more of snow in mid-March (lately a usually occurrence), a school that ends in early May....it's an anachronism of a program....it simply doesn't work....college baseball in New England just doesn't "work" in 2018...sucks, but it is what it is

Maybe they are playing at Clark which has a very nice turf field and likely cheaper than Northboro

Doesn't work. Could never go and beat Houston compete with Oklahoma and then sweep CSU after they had two SEC wins.

Boston is supposed to get more snow than Worcester this go around. However, this is probably falling on bare ground. I don't think they have anything left from last week's go around. Everything in Worcester was covered before the first flake today

Is the weather ideal in the Northeast? No. Will HC win a national championship in baseball? Doubtful. That doesn't mean there aren't people who support the team, both financially and with their time/energy who would like to come to this board to discuss the program without the same 2-3 people complaining about baseball in the Northeast. Al that aside, saying baseball doesn't work in the Northeast is just plain stupid. HC has shown they can compete, even in a rebuilding year, with AAC, SEC, and Big South teams. Northeastern just handed Auburn their first loss of the season. Bryant has won close to 30 games the last few years. Boston College made a Super Regional in the last few years and looks good again this year.

Baseball is a different beast. Even in the pros, the best teams in the league will only win 57% of their games. Great teams will lose games. HC may steal or even earn a few of these games, but let's be careful not to get held up on a specific, hallmark win like we might in say, basketball or football, in the same way.

Unless it's league titles and NCAA playoff/tournament games. Let's obviously get held up on those, no matter the sport. It's a good problem to have when we can get them.

I am looking forward to seeing the 2017 Patriot League Championship flag, fly above Fitton Field this season.
Hope it is one of many in the years to come.

We got 18 inches of snow in CMass today...on top of what was left of last week's storm. Baseball at Fitton is going to have to wait.

When HC spends $3 million of donor money on turf for Fitton Field someday, it will make much LESS difference than the proponents claim. It's still WINTER in the Worcester area until early April.
Northeastern has turf. Was today's game played, in dry, sunny weather? No, it was cancelled. The high in Boston today was 37 degrees. Baseball is an exciting but leisurely-paced sport meant for warm weather. You don't play in the winter. Soggy/icy fields actually get playable fairly quickly when it warms up. I said when!
Don't bother scheduling BC around St. Patrick's day. It's a nice marketing idea but the game has been played only one year out of the last four.
You have to schedule New England college baseball like the big league teams did in the day of train travel. The weekend after the Southern spring trip needs to be an away series in the mid-Atlantic. By the last week in March, you can play around NYC or Southern CT. After that, you can get going on Patriot League play with New England rivals sprinkled in.
Northeastern teams can compete in college baseball if the AD's are realistic with scheduling. Global warming is averaging just a fraction of a temperature degree per year. We didn't have little league tryouts where I grew up, north of Boston, until very early April. It was warm enough by then and the (grass) fields were good enough. That's when you schedule local games. BC on March 14 and Northeastern on March 17/18 wasn't a stretch; it was a joke!

They should have BCS and FCS in baseball..the FCS schools should be the northern ones and play in late August, September and October, when the weather is far superior to what these kids have to put up with in the spring.
