A 4th rounder is definitely making the team. Those are valuable picks.

Thanks, Breezy Does 6th for PP mean 6th round ? Wonder if interest in McBeath means drafted possibility ?

Didn't realize PP was that fast...Wouldn't shock me if the Pats take a flier on him if he's not drafted....But Lauletta is the real deal...

I recall Edelman as much smaller and shiftier as a college QB and remember he was talked about as pro kick returner/wildcat/flanker material pre-draft - he has shown he has very good hands. PP posted a very good 40 time (for a QB) but I am not sure he's got that dodging ability. Would be great for him and the program if he got drafted...but even an invite to camp means somebody is interested.

Peter's time of 4.58 for the 40 is faster than any of the 17 QB's that has times listed for the combine on NFL.com. Sam Darnold was 4.85 and Baker Mayfield 4.84 for comparison. Lamar Alexander did not have a time listed. Of course, we know there's more to being a QB than one's 40 time but being fast cannot hurt.
Maybe Peter's was hand-timed and the combine was electronic---don't know.

You don't develop certain football skills at this late in the game. He is a QB. If he has any chance of making the league, it will be as a QB.

I just checked against my memory here ( draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=67858&draftyear=2009&genpos=QB) on Edelman. Write up focuses on kick return/receiver (ranked 56 of 306 at WR) potential but notes he also played quarterback. His times (fastest and slowest) are there also. "Edelman was not invited to the 2009 NFL Combine. At his March 12 Pro Day, he ran the short shuttle in 4.01 seconds;[14] the fastest time at the Combine that year was 4.03 seconds." That includes all positions, of course. Don't see PP as similar type player at all.

Ciaccio was probably the best overall HC QB imo from my years as a fan (1970s on)...Pujals is in the mix of the Top 5 or so QBs in that era.

IMHO PP best QB since jack lentz Since Lentz? Funny, I heard he was a very good option runner/passer for HC and played DB briefly in the old AFL. Certainly no real NFL QB prospects from HC in a very long time (if ever). Maybe Muldoon? (Saw him play at HC, thought he could have played at a higher college level (he did turn down BC), great HC team, looked pretty good, and think he played briefly in Canada). I've heard Wiley was good and 1st team All American (but didn't really pay attention and not sure of the quality of his opposition). PP is right there IMHO (ignoring his W-L record).

Pro prospect is often far different from effective college QB

Pro prospect is often far different from effective college QB Certainly. Lentz (referenced above) was not a pro QB prospect at all but is considered one of our most effective QB's. And if 'effective' refers to winning, PP was not too good at all. If 'effective' refers to stats, PP is very good. But if the question is if PP is one of our best pro QB prospects in the last 50 years or so, I am thinking he is. We'll see what the experts say on draft day and what happens thereafter.
