Did not realize BU fired their women's coach last month. Katy Steding was 10-19 and 5-13 in the PL this year. Her teams beat HC in 3 of 4 games in the last two seasons, including her last victory this season before finishing the year on a six game losing streak The Terriers just today announced the hiring of a grad, Marisa Mosely off the staff at UConn

Wonder how this affects their recruits..there is at least one local kid (Medway) going there. Don't see her as being a particularly strong d1 prospect...

I guess the Turnpike Trophy wasn't enough to keep her around.

As an aside, the turnpike Trophy is a good idea in theory. But, given the state of HC athletics across the board, seems currently to be a disaster for HC. May that soon be different!

See my post on the other thread about Nate Pine.
I care as much about the Turnpike Trophy as I do about the Patriot League President's Cup (read: not at all). Both are jokes vis-a-vis Holy Cross.

Is there an easy way to get out of the TT? Doubt it.

My suggestion is to have a formal ceremony at the beginning of each year and present BU the trophy to them in anticipation of the expected results. No sense waiting until the end of the year as the only question is how great the difference will be.

It's a dumb trophy but it doesn't particularly matter to me if it exists or not. Hard to form a "rivalry" when the focus of both schools' athletic departments are vastly different. Maybe start counting football and baseball as "wins by forfeit" in favor of HC to make things interesting. As far as the coaching change, not a ton to say but hopefully there are better results for BU. Marisa Moseley ('04) is an alum and 2 time captain so she knows BU and hopefully Geno Auriemma provided a good example for her on how to run a program when she was an assistant at UCONN.

Is there an easy way to get out of the TT? Doubt it. Yes. Just don’t do it one year. Maybe three people who do not post on this board would notice.

“ Maybe three people who do not post on this board would notice.”
OK, that would be Nate Pine and the BU AD. Who would be the third person you speak of?
