He probably couldn't have gotten into HC if he wound up at BC So if he had chosen HC ? Well then he'd be a freaking genius. I'm working on the assumption that any one playing a revenue sport at BC couldn't get into HC - and in fact probably couldn't get into Faber College either.

Reece Brown picked up an offer from Georgetown yesterday, so whatever slim chance we might have had with him is likely gone now.

Do we know his other visits-planned or taken?

Significantly, Thomson's visit to Colgate is an official one - believe the limit on OVs is five. According to VC, Thomson has twenty offers - pretty impressive that Langel & Co. are apparently among the finalists. What winning does.
Don't know what his visit plans are otherwise, but he's from the Toronto area, so guessing Canisius will earn one.

Sam Thomson committed to Colgate. It is hard for me to imagine HC finds itself looking up to Colgate in men's basketball but anything is possible in the wide, wide world of sports. Hopefully that changes real soon.

Sam Thomson committed to Colgate. Recruiting has changed so much over the last 25 years, and I don’t believe for the better. The one thing that has improved over the years is more kids can play the game. Some a step slower, a vertical of 24”, or just not as strong but they are still athletic enough, know the game and have decent upside if the coaches can teach and develop the kids. ‘Perhaps we ought to visit the Davidson model and Bob’s approach to recruiting? Players he signs are not your 3* players and above, they all work hard and are teachable. We used to recruit the same kids, and Andrew Beinert was the last one I believe-both HC and Davidson were recruiting Andrew and Aaron Bond. Aaron to Davidson and Andrew to HC. ‘His approach works because the program wins, and he and his staff teach and develop the roster. His balance between US and global recruiting might be an approach we should consider?

Nice campus, good school and in the south.
Interested to see if his next visit is in the south and he looks at Wofford, a beautiful campus, about 1200 students, nice facilities and good coach. The owner of the Panthers, an alum, built the stadium and field house for the community of Spartanburg plus other parts of SC. And yes there seems to be a Krispy Kreme on every other block.

Recruiting period starts up again next week, and the staff will undoubtedly be going full bore at open gyms locally and elsewhere. Most kids will commit in the next 60-75 days, so it's getting late.

According to the William and Mary board, Kolek will be taking an official visit to George Mason and Conner Cochera, a 6’4” wing from Chicagoland, has taken unofficial visits to HC, Lafayette, Colgate, Penn and Siena. He has quite a bit of low to mid-major interest after an impressive summer.

Sounds like Kochera visited HC last weekend which was when the Elite Camp was held, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Sounds like he would be a very nice addition even though he isn’t a big.

Do we know if any players have taken an official visit?
Given our late start with this class do we do like the pros and take the best available option or commit to the two best available 4/5

Well,it would seem that at least one of the two would be a 4-5.

Agree but this staff has been put in a tough position given the timing of BCs retirement, but I think there are still good options remaining

Would it make sense to recreate freshmen teams for schools that wanted a program? Start the season for all freshmen that are non starters on the Varsity as of December 1 and fill in around it?
Mid and low majors would benefit
