"He has done an excellent job of developing and enhancing a culture of compliance throughout our department."
I guess "throughout our department" excludes the basketball program?

We don't know what the situation with the basketball program is. However, the NCAA routinely uses phrases like "failure to monitor" and "failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance," in their findings pursuant to an infractions investigation, to describe institutional culpability
Both phrases were used in the NCAA's Public Infractions Report on the Holy Cross soccer program in 2009, for example.

Our athletic programs and department is in shambles. I’m not really sure how anyone could say otherwise.

Our athletic programs and department is in shambles. I’m not really sure how anyone could say otherwise. But, but, but ....the Luth!!! Our hoop and football programs are shadows of what they would have been with even halfway decent administrative support ovah the last 40 years...near criminal neglect actually. If you don't think this hasn't hurt the school too....your head is firmly in a foot of sand.

Anyone who has not seen (or willfully refuse to see because of a personal agenda) the improvement in the HC athletic program in the last 5 years does, indeed, have his head deep in the sand. I think all can agree that the long view going back decades brings in some decisions that, though well intended, proved to be terrible. We can't go back and change them. Bringing them up again and again only obscures the positive changes that are being made today and in the near future. The Luth is a case in point. A decade ago some doubted that it would ever happen (i.e. we would never see trucks "rolling up the hill'). Now that it is completed, it is being easily dismissed by some..."OK, we got a 100 million athletic facility, but what has happened lately and why aren't our won/loss records better now?" The present can never make up for us not being in the Big East. It happened. Please find a way to accept that.

The present can never make up for us not being in the Big East. It happened. Please find a way to accept that. The facilities have improved, certainly. That is because the Luths’ very generous gift, which has absolutely nothing to do with Nate Pine. If you think Nate was responsible for that gift, you’re delusional. Luths: “We’re thinking of donating to the new facility. Would a few thousand dollars be enough?”
Nate: “How about $35 million?”
Luths: “Oh, we had never thought of giving that much but now that you say it, sure.”
Give me a break. However, if you actually want to look at the performance of the teams at HC, they have not improved. Nate Pine has done a very poor job of hiring coaches, and currently has two active investigations into programs that were led by guys who he hired. The idea that things have improved outside of facilities (thanks again, Luths) and social media posts is purely delusional.

That was supposed to be an actual conversation? Give ME a break. one doesn't have to hate Nate pine or Bill carmody to wonder if this guy left on his own initiative. Of course if they'd reveal what the hell happened we'd have a better idea

Of course if they'd reveal what the hell happened we'd have a better idea Hard to believe he got a job at Richmond if he was involved in any improprieties. And UR's new AD was a PL AD for the last 18 years, so he likely would have some idea about the issues.

He is a Bucknell grad and former Bison QB. He probably saw what was coming in the Chesney Era and could not abide the thought of seeing his alma mater get punished big time each Fall......

Why is the landing page on GoHolyCross the announcement of Colton going to Richmond? The head of compliance moving to another school is really news worthy of being on the front page? He is leaving Holy Cross, not joining the team.
Wouldn't Peter Burke being named the interim head coach for men's lacrosse be bigger news, or does Pine want that announcement buried?

Given the Burke announcement is also above the fold on the home page sidebar, I wouldn't call that "buried". Or perhaps this tells us everything we need to know about interest in lax.
