Don't follow this program but just looked at the current schedule and team roster....
Despite poor results, something positive appears to be quietly underway here.
Check out the roster profile as to home towns as well as what appears to be a dramatic up-tick in the strength of the OOC sked !
Perhaps another valid 5-6 year plan to turn things around ?

our coach is entering her 4th season and has had a diverse roster for a long time if you look at the previous years' pages. the other thing that has not changed for decades is the futility of this program. just looking at her first 3 years of league play, the record is a cumulative 12-36, and it was just as bad going back as far as you want. Regarding the ooc schedule, I certainly hope there has not been an uptick in strength. We've had enough of 3-zip whitewashes in the past.

Watched several time last season. The team looked very good at times and would then suddenly have a misplay or two and the point was lost. The players seem to have a positive attitude and things may be looking up. I hope it starts to pay off this year.

rgs, a nice sympathetic post for a terrible team but good for you to find a positive. More probably another tough season with 17 of the 19 on the roster freshmen or sophs. Let's get real and all agree we need to recruit 'better' student-athletes to avoid being stuck in the bottom half of most standings. I hope the Luth was a factor in bringing in those 5 frosh who can make an immediate impact.

There has been extensive roster turnover since the new coach arrived. The 2018 roster has two seniors remaining from a class of 6 recruits that entered three years ago, and no juniors from a class of 3 recruits that entered two years ago. Last year's team relied heavily on freshmen, who will be sophs this year.
On the other hand, recruiting for the program has become much more geographically diverse. Interesting that the team will start the season with 3 games in California -- smart move with 8 Californians on the roster.
As mentioned by purplehaze, this is still a very young team, but there are some signs that the staff's recruiting efforts are bringing better players to the program. It will be interesting to see how the team develops this year.

It looks like HC volleyball has two commitments for the recruiting class of 2019.
One is Emma Van Severen (Davenport, Iowa), whose sister Sophie is currently playing volleyball at Holy Cross.
The second is Heather Pedrick (Alachua, Florida).

I think Heather's been getting a little too much sun. Hopefully, she can find her way to class.
