Thanks, alum. Anyone know why so many pictures come through reversed? Trying to pretend he is a lefty?

Thanks, alum. Anyone know why sp many pictures come through reversed? Trying to pretend he is a lefty? My guess would be that the pic was taken in “selfie” mode on the camera even though he is clearly not taking the pic himself.

There's a rumor out there that Holy Cross is actually a very good school despite having no mascot.😊

... despite having no soccer tradition. (Maybe that changes with more recruits like him) He does mention in the attached articles above that his home is only 45 minutes from campus and his family can see him play.
It's a dh tonight with the women also playing Fordham at 5 pm

Maybe he’s smart enough to know he’s unlikely to make a living playing soccer and thinks the HC degree will be more useful to him post-soccer.

I wonder why he picked Holy Cross This surprised me: "Becher, from Brooklyn, signed his National Letter of Intent for a four-year full scholarship to play soccer for the Crusaders in the Library at Woodstock Academy."

Perhaps many/most soccer schollies are partials, like in lax, even with high end players

That is why I was surprised by the word "full". Of course the article could be wrong - or it could provide a hint as to why Becher picked HC.

Loyola MD spent the most on men's soccer in the PL in 2016-17, $1.2 million. HC spent $824,000. Around $.1.1-1.2 million seems to be the maxing out amount level in the PL, (Fordham and GU also spend that amount.) At $824,000, Hc would be about 4-5 full scollies short.

Perhaps many/most soccer schollies are partials, like in lax, even with high end players Yes, many are partials. The max number of soccer scholarships is 9.9 and schools typically have 24-30 players. Here is what the various PL schools spent on scholarships, salaries and benefits, fundraising and promotional expenses, and recruiting expenses last year. It does not include so-called operating expenses, which are largely lodging, meals, transportation, uniforms, equipment, and fees to referees. A reasonable amount for everything except scholarships/athletic aid might be $350,000 or so on average. Loyola University . 1,015,331 Boston University . 999,244 Lafayette College . 778,934 Colgate University . 771,268 College of the Holy Cross . 712,547 American University . 642,297 Lehigh University . 604,102 Bucknell University . 520,103 Note: The numbers above don't match those posted by PP because I eliminated the expenses for travel, lodging, uniforms and equipment, referee fees, etc. Both Loyola and Boston U are fully funded (i.e. 9.9 scholarships), while the rest are partially funded.

So, these numbers suggest that HC has five total scholarships. If Becher gets one, that leaves about one per class to split up.
