Nice spelling of "your" from a school that is supposed to be academically rigorous... whoops....that's me rushing
Maybe not advisable to rile Mr. Dillon, eh ?

BC rolling! Fly Eagles Fly 🦅. They have a brutal stretch towards the end of their schedule. Last 2 games are FSU and Syracuse. As of this moment - neither are a threat to BC. BC could very well go 10-2.

Fun ?? BC ?? We are from different planets. Are you not from the hate BC era ? Hated them when we were rivals (probably hated PG Jimmy O'Brien more than anybody) . Athletically, the schools are apples and oranges now. No reason now not to root for our Jesuit brethren.

We were rivals for far longer than we have not been. How about their point shavers ? Thugs under Skinner, etc Do you root for all the Jesuit brethren ? G’town, Loyolas, Fordham, etc

No point in hating on BC, when they're successful it makes college sports relevant in an extremely pro-heavy media market. Given that the two schools will almost never play each other in any sport with anything major at stake, there's no reason to root against them otherwise. Yes, BC fans can be annoying sometimes but many of us have co workers and friends who went there. And many BC alum and supporters want to see HC do well too. How many Boston College alumni you think look at the schedule before the season and say, "Man I hope Holy Cross goes 0-11 this year and is the laughingstock of the Patriot League"? Even those old enough to remember the 55-12 Fenway game are probably just thankful their family members skipped out on Coconut Grove.
But I promise if we ever face the Eagles in the NCAA men's basketball or hockey tournaments, I will hate Boston College with the fury of a thousand Suns.

Watched the game last night and my first thought is that either BC has super receivers and/or WF has poor DB's! WF got torched by BC's passing game. Credit to them. For all those saying that FCTG can/could not be on the sidelines for the game, he was clearly visible a number of times. Saw the back of his head a few times and he was clearly visible with about 1:27 remaining with a full front camera shot. So, yes, he was on the sidelines! !

We held BC Quarterback Brown to 0 TDs...he threw 5 yesterday v Wake.
Good thing mercifully Adazzio sent him to the showers after Dillon's three easy rushing TDs midway through the 1st quarter. And went to the 2nd and 3rd string. One can only imagine how many TD's he could have tossed (and how large the margin of victory would have been).

A fictional score can be any number we want. It is also not news for posts to "adjust" such fiction to fit their perception of what might have happened. Why not say the first team would not have fought as hard against players they deemed to be "inferior" so the score could have been closer? The second and third team players who were in there were trying to show what they could do if given a chance and they did not let down at all.
Back to reality. HC lost by a big score to a strong BC squad who may be ranked nationally for much of the season. Let's see how that game impacts our effort vs Yale tomorrow.

We were rivals for far longer than we have not been. How about their point shavers ? Thugs under Skinner, etc Do you root for all the Jesuit brethren ? G’town, Loyolas, Fordham, etc The point shaving was right before I was born, so I don't have any personal animosity derived from that. The games vs. BC during the Willard era were (mostly) a lot of fun, but I can't say that I have any long-term negative feelings as a result of those games. I remember the 2002 win at the Centrum quite fondly though. To be honest my distaste for teams is pretty limited now to the Yankees, Patriots, Devils, all pro teams from Philadelphia and Duke men's basketball. I was 7 when the last BC/HC football game was played prior to this year. I wasn't introduced to HC until 87. I'm a product of a different era. If I was looking solely through purple glasses, I would likely muster more animosity for American and Bucknell as rivals based solely on the basketball battles from 2002-07, certainly more animosity than I could for BC.

While the teams are still several (I might be optimistic) years apart and are currently apples to oranges, womens hockey will be playing BC several times a year now. If the men ever get moving to Hockey East as well, we too will be facing the beagles several times a year. The men are 1-1 vs BC the last few seasons. I do not wish injury on them, but will never, ever root for them. Go Noles, Canes, Irish, who ever they face!
