Charge me with Heresy, but does Holy Cross have a logical chance to win this ten (so far) way competition? We aren't in the Ivy League like H,Y,D,C, we aren't a service academy like Air Force, we aren't nearby like Lafayette, Lehigh or Robert Morris, and while we are Catholic, so is Fordham, and we aren't in NYC like they are. What are the hidden strengths of Holy Cross that don't come immediately to mind? Or is the connection secured between recruiter and the recruit and his family the most important aspect of the recruiting process when all ten or more of the potential colleges are attractive institutions and the player really can't go wrong with any of them?

Holy Cross is #1 in Div 1 in academic success for athletes, has outstanding facilities second to none, the 90 Wide Mentoring program, and an invigorated program that has recently re-committed to excellence. We have a story to tell that should compete well. Go Cross!

We have beaten every school you mention for kids in the last few years. Should we not offer a kid who has other interest? What's your approach to recruiting?

We have a story to tell that should compete well. Go Cross! Good points. Also, as has been discussed here ad nauseam, recruits select schools based on any number of reasons, but usually foremost are football related reasons. IF a recruit feels that HC program is a better fit (coaches, success, position, playing time, etc.), they will HC select over those schools.

Maybe this tweet this evening by Coach Scott James answers the question.

The median household income in Ligonier is $41,000. On other threads, ad nauseum, there were/are repeated references that applicants whose family income is $65,000 or less attend HYP for $0. Further, as Harvard notes, students who attend Harvard for free may also receive fin aid for travel and personnel expenses, which might amount to $6-8,000. That's fin aid for items that are not billed by Harvard. college.harvard.edu/financial-aid/how-aid-works/cost-attendance

My approach to recruiting is much more informed after reading these responses. Thanks to all. I was undervaluing what Holy Cross has to offer. I'm looking forward to the challenging OOC schedule and HC challenging for the PL championship in the fall.

I welcome sharing with the faithful here that Coach Chesney and staff have embraced and very proactively utilize the 90-Wide on the recruiting trails in ways that I could have only dreamed about.
The 90-Wide Impact Report highlighting specific Crusaders' 90-Wide experiences over the last ten years makes the program very real and tangible. We met the incoming Crusaders of the Class of 2023 prior to the spring game for a half hour and they were fully versed on what the 90W is all about. Their folks even more so.
Everybody wins.
As one die hard loyal Crusader recently mentioned to me, "We win like this on the field the way that we are winning off the field, if we're not careful we might just become a football school."
Sounds good to me.
Let's Win!!

I have to think this is a huge plus for recruits and perhaps even more so for parents.
It is such s great program that I’m surprised the NCAA does not ban it

Avg height and not overly big (160) - he must be very fast. Listed as a WR. The big plays in his highlight reel are running plays with him as a single setback. Perhaps the QB couldn't throw long, because when he was targeted, the passes were not more than 10-15 yards downfield.
