Dear XXX,
Good evening from Mount St. James. I hope you and your family are well. With four games left on our schedule, I want to give you insight into how YOUR team is doing back on campus.
While we are NOT where we would like to be regarding our overall record, we have taken GREAT strides each week. We all understand the mountain that needs to be climbed and the effort and commitment that it will take to climb it.
Our team's spirit remains high and these young men continue to impress our staff with their resiliency and belief in one another. During every practice and every game our team is tested at a high level and they respond with all they have. That will continue over the next four weeks. We ALL just need to do better. We need to execute with much more confidence, urgency and conviction. Our assignments need to become a "given" and we now need to go above and beyond with an uncommon effort.
We are close, and although I realize that is not enough, we need to come together now more so than ever before. I am very proud of how our team continues to respond and that is a testament to Holy Cross and our young men.
We have two more home games on our schedule. Tomorrow, Saturday, October 27, we face Patriot League opponent Lehigh on Fitton Field. We will wrap up our home schedule and celebrate our seniors on Saturday, November 10 against Fordham. We look forward to seeing our family, alumni and friends in the stands at home and on the road over the next four weeks.
There is strength in numbers and now is the time for that strength to help elevate our current team. I know that this season has not played out as many of us have hoped, but there are MANY bright spots and MANY adversities that will serve us greatly moving forward. Continue to believe in YOUR team. Attend a game if you can. Critique if you must. But NEVER stop believing.
We Will Win.
Go Crusaders!
