Senior leadership by JF in OT.
Good hustle play by PB there too.
Good learning experience for this group.
Did Carm mention the non-foul at the end of regulation ?

This is worse than Mississippi State. Thankfully, an overstatement. But not by much. Nearly epic collapse. Plenty to work on ... but it was nice to make like typical HC undergrads with the ol' puke and rally routine. Nice to escape with the W.

Thought PB had way too many touches tonight and that stopped our movement and flow. However, overall play the last 10 min was a team thing and not a PB problem and give Albany credit for not mailing it in after they were down 19. Take the W and get ready for Harvard. .

I know announcers get pronunciation keys for all player names. I wonder if this pair can read those handouts? Perhaps they were pronunciation interns under Bob F?

That long dry spell reminded me of HC at Columbia (nightmare second half) years ago. What was different this time? Oh yea, HC WON! "Worse than Mississippi State"...hardly. Things often get posted in the heat of the moment. HCBC calmed the team and had them ready to play and dominate the OT. A win is a win is a win.
JF's three straight FTs were very big.

Did our offense get overly dependent on the back door cuts. It seemed that once Albany wised up to that, we didn't have a lot of other options. Missed a few 3s and a couple short jumpers. It just seemed like players and coaches put it in cruise control too early. Credit Carm with calming everyone after what must have been the shock of going into OT. Did anyone else think we were the beneficiary of a lot of the refs' calls?

I thought the team was pretty good tonight, except for that stretch of the second half when I felt the whole team relaxed and forgot what got them to a 17 point lead..However, the OT showed how far this team has come. They are getting better and better each night out..JF had a solid game tonight, took over the game in spurts..It was good to see Caleb hit the jumper at the beginning of the OT, after missing a few shots in the 2nd half..Lots of guts to stick that jumper...Grandi is really making a name for himself! This is an exciting season, lots of good things happening!
I think all of Crossports would have taken a 4-2 record heading into the Thanksgiving. A good start to the season!

When the opponents take away the back cuts, they give up open 3's..tonight HC just didn't hit them at the toward the end of regulation...When the team hits them, the D has to make runs at the shooters, and then the back door cuts open up again...I actually thought the refs did a pretty good job tonight..

KenPom has us at #161 now and he forecasts 19-12 for the regular season (he had us at #207 and 15-15, only 1 Mohegan game, before season started)

Didn’t see the game but assuming we took our eye off the prize with a big lead and possible tired legs. Not easy to play at Mohegan Friday and Sunday then sleep on campus Sunday night only to presumably head out to Albany Monday and spend another night in a hotel and a long day today with nothing to do but a shootaround before the game. I think we all would have gladly signed up for 4-2 with reasonably competitive losses to Michigan and Providence. Second half against Michigan was ugly but they’re pretty good.

Jehyve is currently 1st in the PL in blocks (19), and 2nd in assists (26). As long as teams continue to play us man d, his assists should remain high as teams continue to back off him. I think we will see more zones in the PL.

Just back from the game. Traffic not bad at all, btw. The team was terrific for 34 minutes, then it looked like the FD’s game last year. Couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean, laid back some on D, and Albany got hot. I really thought they would lose in ot. Once it started, they recovered fully! This game was a loss last year. Big win on several fronts. A road win against a decent team. The team showed that they outclassed Albany, but need to play 40 minutes, lesson learned without much damage done. The ball movement on offense and the pressure defense was a thing of beaty for 34 minutes, they are getting better each game! Big test next week!
