We had a 2-0 lead in the third and gave up three goals in a span of 8:18 to relinquish the lead. Feels like an opportunity lost.

This one sounds like an expression we used years ago and you hardly ever hear anymore: "A tie is like kissing your sister." This one in particular. Why does this team fade in the 3rd period in almost every game? Not having watched these games, the timing would suggest fatigue or a short bench as the consistency would not appear to be the randomness of a bouncing puck. Any experts care to weigh in?

Not having watched these games, the timing would suggest fatigue or a short bench as the consistency would not appear to be the randomness of a bouncing puck. Any experts care to weigh in? We’ve been outscored 26-10 in the third period this season. The past two years scoring in the third has been relatively even. We were +1 last year and -3 the year before that. In past years, we have had the problem where we’d play much better in the first game of a weekend than the second. Now we don’t do well in either game. We have also tended to fade at the end of seasons (thus our winless record in the playoffs under Berard).

If we were outscored by the same amounts in the 1st two periods then we just don't have a good team. However, my impression based on posts here is that we are often ahead, tied or very closely behind going into the 3rd and then tank.
Any theories, 92, as I know you watch a lot of these games with or without the kids - mostly with, I think?

Won 4-1 tonight. But for half a period yesterday, we pretty much dominated Niagara on the scoreboard this weekend. Maybe we’ve turned a corner. Let’s hope so.
