As I stated elsewhere, our team absolutely needs Lauren at her best to have a successful season with 11 games remaining. Please don't give me this 'opposing defenses are concentrating on her' argument. If she really is an elite player she has to navigate herself through these games. It's understandable if her scoring is down a bit but these stats show a player who is not playing anywhere near 'Preseason POY' level
= .483 fg% ooc (11 games) vs. .371 fg% PL (7 games) = .750 ft% ooc vs. .650 ft% PL 15 of 23 which means she's not getting to the line enough (last season she shot 83% for the year) = points/game: 21.6 ooc vs. 14.1 PL
I think part of the solution has to come from the coaching staff to settle her down and let the game come to her. It's very apparent she is pressing.

She took some awkward shots from bad angles last night. Perhaps feature Swords as the first option more and if she is successful in scoring, Lauren will get better spacing and angles.

After a 5 of 16 shooting day on Saturday (incl 0 or 3 from 3), her league fg% is now .364 - our other 4 starters all have a better in-league %. Hey, I'm a big fan and everyone is allowed to have a shooting slump, but I hope Lauren gets her shooting touch back starting Wednesday at AU.

There might very well be some injury limiting Lauren's contributions since the beginning of January - but here's a 'league' comparison this year vs. last 17-18 (18 games): fg% .410 / 3 pt fg% .284 / ft% .848 / ppg 17.4 18-19:(14 games): .359 .243 .653 / 13.5 If Faulkner is out and Lauren continues to struggle (only played 19 minutes last night - maybe the least of her career !), it's going to be tough facing these top teams in the league down the stretch

I hope it was an aberration, but the team was just horrible last night until the fourth period. Couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, many times simply hoisting it up in the general vicinity of the basket. Sloppy passes. In spite of a big height advantage, got out rebounded. Only Ezemma was consistently good.

I’ve watched dozens of PL games and Lauren is clearly the most skilled player in the league especially for her size.— I am friendly with players from PL teams and I can tell you that opponents spend hours figuring out how to defend her.— I see the stat comparisons and I agree that she is pressing BUT if you go back and check video from the past you will see a change.—- That change is her now wearing a long sleeved compression under her tank top.—Try it sometime.— Girls I know tried wearing it and ALL told me it affected their play especially their shooting.— I might be wrong but I could also be right. — Love to see her put it back in the drawer.— Go Lauren !

She took a turnaround jumper (not forced) that was a foot to the left of the rim. Unless the compression shirt comes with a sling, I wouldn't pin that type of miss on her equipment.

Focusing on Manis’ performance may be the wrong place to look. She’s averaging slightly more shots per minute than in previous seasons and hitting at the same percentage, ~42% all three seasons. Compare HC’s shot distribution across the starting line ups to AU and Bucknell. Offenses that keep the ball moving tend to share the shooting load and everyone on the court stays in motion and in rhythm. High percentage shots happen when the ball keeps moving.
Shots %take %made HC LM 384 31.4% 41.7% AL 249 20.4% 36.9% MSw 245 20.1% 47.8% KP/JF 202 16.5% 37.0% MSm 141 11.5% 36.8%

hcd, I'm having a tough time understanding your logic above - the facts speak for themselves with Lauren yes, she's shooting .417 from the field for the season, but my point has been that something has not been clicking since league play began. it's right there on the stats page that her PL fg% is .359 through 14 games -- do the math, that means that for the 13 ooc games she was shooting about 48% from the field.
Please don't tell me the league has figured out how to stop her. This league is ranked 30th of 32 D.1 conferences in the country for a reason. With Swords development at the center position, this was supposed to open things up for Lauren, playing her natural '4' position. Hey, she is simply having a rough year and given all she's done in her career, she's allowed to slump a bit. Let's hope she catches fire down the stretch of the season.

I hope the whole team clicks together on both ends of the floor and finishes strong.
My point is depending any one player to catch fire and carry the team by themself, particularly against the top two teams, is a big ask. One player carrying the team has not been the Bucknell and AU approach. It's generally not a big winning formula and hasn't been for HC. And while certainly not stopping her, since late last year it would seem the league has been able to keep Lauren from efficiently lighting them up on a regular basis.
It's a tall task to get the whole team clicking together too, but I'd rather see that.
