AU has won seven straight since losing its PL opener at Bucknell, for a 7-1 conference record and a tie for first with the Bison (Bucknell obviously is technically first because of that win over the Eagles). The Eagles have gotten a great lift from two freshmen, Emily Fisher and Jade Edwards, and sophomore point Indy Sanders, who each stepped in and provided big minutes for us after we lost both of our starters in the backcourt, senior point Katie Marenyi and senior two Kaitlyn Lewis, to injuries. Marenyi had missed the last eight games with a right foot injury; Lewis had missed the last two with an elbow injury. Both were back in the starting lineup in Saturday's win over Lafayette. Cecily Carl has come on after some uneven play at the end of the non-conference schedule; she had 18 in the win over the Leopards.

It was not the refs that lost this game. Welcome to HC women's basketball - no toughness and grit to win winnable games - we were up 44-31 with 7 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. AU outscores us 39-14 the rest of the way. A series of turnovers and missed shots and no answers from our players and coaches. Unlike the men's team, this team has not seen the injury bug hit and is playing with a healthy core of juniors and a very good frosh point guard (that we are very luck to have !). 3-6 in the league after the 1st half of the league schedule.
If you look at the first post on this thread the Massey computer nailed it with the exact final score, 70-58.

our teams do not have a private jet ! we always fly back the next morning - from what I understand it's usually Southwest from BWI to Providence

Tomorrow's weather will be frigid, but at least it's in the daytime.

I hope the players get to keep the frequent flyer miles. I wonder if the NCAA has rules about that?

I googled my own question. Student athletes can earn frequent flyer miles when travelling for games or practice. Pity those power conference players who fly on private jets.
