As frustrating as this season was, with last minute and overtime losses, etc., I think it was even more so when you consider the following: - We were 5-9 against teams rated above us - not awful considering we played a decent OOC schedule (likely four of the seven OOC opponents will be headed to the NCAA)
- We were 11-8 against teams ranked below us - not great, but not the end of the world
- On a purely W/L basis, we would finish 5th in the PL
- On the basis of RPI or Massey or similar measures, we would be 4th in the PL
- The ten schools ranked above us averaged 20 wins, each had a winning record, and with the possible exception of URI, each will likely be playing in the post-season.
While I know we'll miss a lot of JF's game, his inability to score from outside 6-8 feet did hamper the offense. I'm hopeful that at least one of the incoming frosh will be a threat from outside - thereby opening up the inside for greater contributions from Faw, Niego and Copeland. I'm certainly not as willing as many on this board to put a brick on the gas pedal and head for the cliff.
In the meantime, Spring practice begins today for Chesney & Co.
Go Cross!

Fwiw, Massey is one of the very few rankings to have HC 4th among PL schools. Most of the well-known rankings have them 6th, including Pomeroy, Sagarin, RPI (now NET), etc.

Strong disagree. Floyd was our best offensive player, and we will sorely miss him. Next year, even more so than the one we just concluded, will be predicated on jump shooting. #MakeShots
