Indeed, very impressive but here's what struck me the most:
That happens so rarely. Oh, wait, Justin Burrell.
Welcome, Kaity!

Even from a Skinflint like me who generally thinks the DBO position is overkill for small colleges, welcome aboard! What an impressive four year college resume. Four straight years on the All Academic Team as well as the Dean's List (the good list), wow.
As a side note, neither IADBS (until 5PM today) or ADMB is likely a credit grabbing ego maniac. The announcement credited AM with making the hire herself. It is only a subtle difference but some AD's direct the SID to include their name in even the most entry level of hires in the different sports. We want thorough oversight, supervision and accountability behind the scenes, but not leaping into every opportunity to share credit with the coaches.

I could be wrong, but I don't think a HC AD has ever put their name into a press release announcing the hiring of an assistant coach. I doubt any PL team has ever had that happen. I know it has never been the case at Bucknell.

From the news archives in the Women's Basketball section of GoHolyCross.com, on 9-8-2004: "Holy Cross Athletic Director Richard M. Reagan announced today that Trinke Vaughn has accepted a position as assistant coach for the women's basketball team." I seemed to remember that Reagan would share the announcement with the head coaches, but the first announcement I saw in the news archives had him making the announcement himself with BG making a comment later in the release. Perhaps it was the way it was always done at HC and Dick just continued the same format or perhaps he didn't care one way or the other but the previous SID told the current SID at the time that was the way to frame such an announcement and it was left to the SID to handle it.
I think FADDR also shared credit with announcing annual schedules with the coaches also. Not a substantive issue, but I like letting the spotlight shine on the coach for positive news like new hires, schedules, accolades, etc.

And she got a master's degree at SHU to boot. Must have had a redshirt (medical or otherwise) year stuck in there or got a bachelor's degree in 3 years.

FB and WBB both appear primed for good seasons and MBB will not be boring with a new coach.
