Wow, this has been going on for a couple of weeks.
I know Coach Nelson has time on his hands ...but in case he doesn't, here's a scouting report on possible opponent Hofstra (#129):

I don't put any stock into Mr. Welser's rankings, but this seems fair to me. Bona will have a hard time, particularly early in the season, replacing Courtney Stockard, an all A10 1st teamer last year and will be looking for significant production from a whole bunch of newcomers including a couple of JUCO transfers and Bobby Planutis, a 6'8" good shooting transfer from Mount St. Mary's. The staff is supposedly high on a few of these guys, but you but you never know what you're going to get until you see them on the floor together. Bona does return three "rising sophomore" starters, two of whom made the all A10 rookie team last season.
I'm surprised that Bona didn't go harder after Sestina. He would have filled their biggest need, a banger at the 4 who can also shoot with range. Not that they necessarily could have gotten him after Kentucky came calling, but Nate has ties to Bona. I was told by someone who knows his father well that Nate got the impression that Bona wasn't really seriously interested.
All right, I'll stop the Bona chatter for now (you started it, NAD). I'm waiting for the game date to be set, assuming there still is a game, so I can make reservations. I'm sure I'll run into rgs318 who will undoubtedly be visiting his in-laws.

Who'd have ever thought Colgate would be considered a top 100 club? Wow. Good on Matt Langel.
Where'd Colgate rank in the most attractive PL job exercise?

res and others, I don't think the Bonnies are on our schedule - they're in a different bracket in Boca and the webpage has their third game in that tourney as a home game on Dec. 7th vs. Hofstra (from our bracket) - our third game in that tourney is at San Diego on Dec 7th (a trip out there was auctioned off at the CAF golf event on Monday)

You may already know this, but Colgate ranked #10. Langel has done a great job. St. Joes, imo, made a big mistake when they opted to hire Billy Lange instead of Langel. Coaching at a Philly A-10 school with good basketball tradition and low academic standards for recruits, Langel likely would have done a great job.

It also remains to be seen how Aaron McKie does at Temple. Would have thought Langel would excel at Temple.

A number of Bona posters/tweeters claim they've been told the same thing. The original plan for the tournament as I understood it was that each team would play games in Boca against two teams in each bracket and would also play two teams from the other bracket at the sites of the "upper" bracket schools. I still think this is the case. For example, Hofstra has announced its schedule and is playing at St. Bonaventure and at San Diego.
However, the fact that there are not yet firm details makes me skeptical, as well. I still think the Cross will be playing a 2nd tournament game on the road, it just might not be against Bona. Bona is still trying to schedule a couple of other games, though, so the delay in the announcement might just be related to trying to find a date.

No other HC opponents since the last post, WooGray. They are now down to #76, UT-San Antonio. so, Harvard is at least #75 or better; Maryland has not yet appeared yet either.
