Great piece of communication from HC--lots of fun.
We had 43 trick-or-treaters at my house, down from 58 the year before. 36 degrees here in The Ville suppressed turnout.

Major dropoff in RI. I don't think we had 20 kids, way down from the usual 75-80 +/-.
We had high winds and rain off and on. But, they got the trick or treating in unlike many towns in Massachusetts that have switched to Saturday, or in some cases, tomorrow.
Feel badly for the kids. I am sure the weather didn't dissuade them but the parents.

Woman I work with said they had a kid killed in her NH town a few of years ago when high winds took out tree/branch. Given the forecast, that was the concern voiced by our town's police chief when they postponed until Saturday.

Had a first ever among one of the 75 or so kids: a Kim Jong Un mask. Not a joke.

Had only 11 kids - all teens. Younger kids all went to "trunk or treat" at churches and libraries. Sad to see this practice disappearing.

1. Wonder how old the kid was (or was it an adult? ) 2. I would've thought it much more likely someone wearing his friend's mask with a MAGA cap. 3. Thank goodness most of the kids are still wearing ghost, witch, power rangers, star wars and other traditional "kid-centric" costumes.

Most creative award in Dumont NJ went to a "Cereal Killer" box (with the name spelled out on the box in cheerios and corn flakes).

Twenty-eight years ago, we moved into our neighborhood, a new subdivision that eventually grew to about 40 houses. Most of those families had a couple or three kids. Since our sub rural town has plenty of people who live in areas not conducive to trick or treating, many others would drive to our neighborhood. For years we would get 150 kids or more. Those kids have grown up. The neighborhood has not turned over much yet so last night we had about 20. Like Rob, I wonder if the trunk or treat events are cutting into the traditional door to door candy seeking. As Florida's newest resident would say, "SAD!"
There were mostly superheroes, but no versions of New England's greatest one, TB12.
