Sorry, hoops. You're much to much of a gentleman to spell it out. He's an asshole. A royal asshole. If Dean Wormer wants to see me, I will deal with the consequences.

What was the Illinois coach complaining about? The dunk by Iowa who was up 8 with 10 seconds left? As far as I can tell they really had no choice but to heave the ball downcourt because Illinois was in a press and was playing as if the game was still in question. Perhaps if Illinois has conceded the game the Iowa player would have just held the ball and let the clock run out. I’m all about sportsmanship but I can see it both ways.

Back to other games - yesterday BC beat UNC 71-70 in chapel hill despite cole Anthony’s return with 26 pts - Roy Williams’ team might not make the tournament

I am no McCaffery fan - but if Illinois wants to press down eight points with 10 seconds left, then Iowa has every right to pass down court and score. And Illinois has no right to complain in the handshake line. This is one of the rare times I agree with McCaffery. BTW, Loyola went to a full court zone press down 17 points with 21 seconds left vs the end of the Bucknell bench last week. I would have liked to see Bucknell complete a full court pass for a dunk - but it didn't happen.

That is a very strange move by Loyola

That is a very strange move by Loyola He was mad about the refereeing, which was incompetent but not one-sided. But if he wants to make a statement, get a T, walk out onto the court to yell at them, or even get ejected. But don't practice bad sportsmanship vs the other team. He also called a full timeout with 22 seconds left, trailing by 17, to set up the zone press. Not sure how that teaches the refs a lesson.

We have pressed and fouled in hopeless situations this year as well, don't like the strategy no matter who does it when the game is no longer in doubt let it end.

An opinion of one and not suggesting it is the case here, or in any of these situations, but frequently first-time head coaches take the performance/loss as a reflection on them personally and you will get some irrational behavior. For the most part, they get better when they better understand their role

When worlds collide.
Jahaad "We Knew Ye Only Because of HC70" Proctor, now a grad student at Purdue, went 6-6 from the field, 3-3 from 3 point land; in a 104-68 demolition of Iowa. The Boilermakers went a gaudy 19-34 from beyond the arc.
Purdue's 61 first half points eclipsed anything HC has given up this year, I'm pretty sure.

It has to be tied for first, but it's not the reason I mentioned him.

Is committing to four different schools an NCAA record? To be fair, only the move from Iona to High Point was a little unusual. Not unreasonable for him to de-commit from Holy Cross because of the coaching change, nor unreasonable for him to do a grad year at Purdue - both happen all the time.

IMHO the only really "unusual" thing is that he keeps popping up on CROSSPORTS.

Could be a brawl during 2nd half of this Iowa-Illinois game.
Fran doing what he can to fan the flames.

I believe it was his son in the middle of the first half melee. Of course, daddy had to be restrained. That is the first requirement of all the assistants.
