"Yesterday" would be the time to turn things around. Perhaps his Covid "time off" will let him come back with a new perspective.

I may well be have the wrong take but I just couldn't see Brett bringing in someone like Andy who has more experience yet who isn't an obvious "senior expert" like Ralph. Brett played at the highest levels and was an assistant at a higher level program than Andy. I would think he wouldn't care for the optics. What could he learn from Andy that he knows (or thinks he knows) better than Andy? As I've posted before, I'd be surprised if Brett hasn't already consulted confidentially with his own mentors. The problem being the guys he's likely talking to have no clue, any more than Brett does, about what it takes to coach at a place like Holy Cross and the unique challenges coaching in the PL. Sorry if this sounds harsh but he seems to be a fish out of water. Maybe he'd be a coaching star at some higher level program? There are aspects of the job which are different than at higher level programs--i.e. some recruiting challenges, no dedicated academic advisers, less comfortable travel. Those have nothing to do with what is ailing this team, i.e., no system and, in particular, no plan as to how to get the ball to scorers who are either open or have favorable matchups. I feel like every time our guys come down the court, they are hoping to get lucky. Somebody pointed out on the other thread that GG was double teamed every time he got the ball in the paint. Why didn't he have any options when that happened other than to bull to the basket or to toss the ball out deep?

OK, so either he hasn’t talked to anyone (a huge mistake) or he has and they haven’t been able to give him good advice (back to my original point) or they gave him good advice and hasn’t taken it (and even bigger mistake).
If the players are as good as so many here believe(d) then he doesn’t know how to use them. I don’t buy this inexperience stuff. It’s not like these kids are from Africa and picked up a basketball when they were 16 or 17.
Missing open shots and throwing the ball away or lazy passes that get picked off should have been resolved by now except for poor shooting but if they can’t shoot they likely aren’t going to learn now.
THIS is the dumpster fire. Carmody may have had some smoldering ashes but this is truly the dumpster fire.
For me, he’s got the rest of the season to quench the fire. After that, we need a new fireman.

I don't think these kids suddenly forgot how to win on their own. Recall we had a link posted here for RJJ's state championship game, where he nearly single handedly lead them to the title. Rabs and Judson were from a real solid prep program. I believe Bubba was on a very successful HS team; GG was a freshman of the year in a similar level league. Maybe in the end the final judgement will be they were overrated, but they at least need to be put in the best spots possible while they grow.

Stop talking about Andy Sachs. Let's give BN some time to right the ship. We just can't keep signing a new coach every couple of years.

I have to admit I chummed the waters and surprised it took so long to get a nibble.

It would be very painful for both fans and players.
But.....to continue down the road we are obviously on and not even consider alternatives is burying one's head in the sand.
We are not merely struggling. HC is currently in the lowest 2-3% of Div I basketball.
As Michael Ray Richardson of the NY Knicks told reporters in 1982: "The ship be sinking!"

My suggestion.....send all the players to an Optometrist, have their vision check, and provide new corrective lenses or goggles to be worn during the games and practice.
I am not saying this in jest.
With the lack of success in making shots, both their shootings mechanics and their ability to clearly see the basket should be broken down and micro analyzed second by second.

I am fine with no more talk about Andy Sachs or any other option as a replacement as it is not a good use of time But We make no more excuses about youth and the ineptitude of the coach These players need to adjust to the college game and develop, but they have played against high level talent in AAU for many years Thank goodness we have a strength coach The coach, BN, was one hell of a player that has yet to prove to anybody that he is a HEAD Coach Players have NOT developed or shown any signs they are learning from game to game-- what happens in the film room or practice? We run an AAU offense and possibly qualify as a solid AAU defensive team- both are major insults to our kids and the school Finally We admit we have one fine mid level AAU coach that we pray will improve over time -- that says a lot about forgiveness as we are an aging but patient lot
