Most states have no shot clock for HS hoops. This is the result.

IMG Academy one field goal second half.
Reminds me of a JV HS game where my team put up a 4th quarter goose egg. Up 30-29 end of three, lost 49-30.

They will be playing #1 Montverde. IMG’s best player, a Duke commit, just left school. Another D1 commit is hurt

Most states have no shot clock for HS hoops. This is the result. Also a result of taking 23 shots (including 5 FT) in the second half and only two of them going in.

I'm not sure why private schools, NOT HIGH SCHOOLS AS WE KNOW THEM, would opt to play by rules not designed to advance the careers of their high priced talent.

State rules, no matter how dumb, control how the game is played, not individual schools.

There is some leeway here. There are some private schools in MA. (St Johns and Whitinsville Christian in greater Worcester) that are part of and subject to MIAA rules.
There are also the private schools that we think of as prep schools (like Worcester Academy) that are not part of the MIAA and do not necessarily follow all MIAA rules.
I assume this is true in other states as well

Continually surprised that the shot clock doesn't exist in many states in the Year of Our Lord 2020.
It's really not that hard/expensive to implement.....

State rules, no matter how dumb, control how the game is played, not individual schools. The state rules in NJ were the reason why St Benedict's (Newark) left the NJSIAA and joined a prep school conference.

Also the term PREP school confuses a lo of people. As far as HS sports are concerned, prep schools are those that have post-graduates and don't play in their state HS athletic associations because they play other prep schools both in and out of state. Worcester Academy = prep school Fordham Prep = not a prep school

State rules, no matter how dumb, control how the game is played, not individual schools. The state rules in NJ were the reason why St Benedict's (Newark) left the NJSIAA and joined a prep school conference. That dumb NJ practice hurts more quality ballers than any other stats, considering that NJ has more strong ballers than almost all the other non shot clock states.
