Down the line, what about a HC-Cornell charity basketball game to honor Fauci's public service with all the proceeds going to a good Fauci-supported cause(s). He's obviously a big basketball fan, having chatted Curry and Coach K already and played at Regis. Could have game in MSG (my preference) or TD Garden and perhaps pair with something else? Bet you could get NBA commish et al interested in helping out etc?
Totally nuts? Half-crazy? Has merit but impossible to pull off? Has merit so let's try?

I will go with #4, Alex MSG may attract more Cornell, as well as HC fans. Problem would be the high rental fee. This game would not attract the casual hoops fan.unless it was paired with a big time hoops game

Let’s honor him at the first home football or basketball game after things return to semi normal. We could announce the plans for the Fauci statue to be placed outside science building. There’s no need to share with Cornell.

We can attempt to do both. I'd rather also try to do something larger and more ambitious. If at the end of the day it can't be pulled off then no harm. Can still do the HC tribute either way but given the impact of Fauci's career I'd like to consider other ideas.

Have it in NYC and invite the Regis community. After all, Fauci did say that Regis had the biggest educational effect in him.

Barclay Center, Brooklyn? More appropriate since Fauci is from Brooklyn, but like MSG too expensive unless the game was part of a doubleheader with high majors.

Ricky P. They had a memorable battle in the '92 East Regional Finals that Christian Laettner settled at the end of OT as I recall.

There is currently a petition, on change.org, to nominate Dr. Anthony Fauci, the 79-year-old director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the country’s coronavirus medical expert, as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. By the evening of April 7, it had over 11,500 signatures. Dr. Fauci’s face, with his small wire-rim glasses and neatly parted gray hair, has been commemorated on sweatshirts, knee socks and mugs.
