Ray Flynn was a sophomore and averaged 5.8 points a game. Unless he was injured or the coach didn't play him in that game, he participated. John Thompson was a freshman and therefore not eligible. To what game are you referring ? 'Sota was trying to figure out if he played in the 60-61 NIT semifinal game ....99% chance that he did.

Had seats under the basket for that one...the HC defense was amazing! I kept expecting to get run over by someone running into the stands (and up my face!). Remember the warm stale air in the place which had been packed since well before tip off?

Was it a regular season or a tournament game where the Bucknell coach pulled a nutty and ran (moonwalked?) out onto the court over a call? I remember the barn was full and the crowd gave him a great send off when he got ejected.

There was one game when Flannery started yelling across the benches at Ralph. Ralph looked behind himself, not knowing what Flannery was doing, why he was screaming.

An awesome memory walking into the old Hart lobby ~90 minutes before tip and hearing the sounds of the students blasting through the old swinging Hart doors.

I heard that even the concession side was standing. Also, how many times did Jeff Jones break out into a coughing fit during this game?

I had to work in CT the day of the 2003 game and showed up 10 minutes before the game. Worst seats I’ve ever had at the Hart. Game was pretty fun, even from the nosebleeds.

The 2003 game was the last one I can recall, fortunately, where the crowd control was non-existent. There were more people in there than there were seats; and, even worse, there were places where the seats were not occupied; people were simply walking around/standing on the end zone walkways.
The 2005 and 2007 games were also sellouts; the 2007 Friday game was sold out Monday morning; and neither one had that issue.

I go back to first years of the Hart Center..EVERY GAME was packed, fans standing on the walkways at each end, standing in the corners, 45 minutes before tip-off! Some great memories! I think that is why I still love going to games, the Hart was a pit to opposing teams!

Yes, there was something different about that game vis-a-vis packed houses I remember. People (mostly students) were just bunched in places they had no business being in. As DiMarz says, there were plenty of packed houses in the early days of the place; they were handled a lot better; both inside and outside the arena.

An awesome memory walking into the old Hart lobby ~90 minutes before tip and hearing the sounds of the students blasting through the old swinging Hart doors. I heard that even the concession side was standing. Also, how many times did Jeff Jones break out into a coughing fit during this game? Jonesy was a gagfest the entire game. The two HC-AU games at the Hart that year were un-freaking-believable games. The 2003 final's atmosphere was electric, wit the HOLY ---> <--- CROSS chants bouncing back and forth the Hart for a solid hour plus before the tip. The game was obviously great, with the "five-point play" between frosh Hamilton & Whearty the highlight of it all. And as good as that game was, the regular season game was even better. I would pay $50 to get my hands on a recording of that game. It was at 9PM on a Friday and the pre-game parties on campus were awesome. This was after AU waxed us in DC a few weeks earlier, and they came out hot as hell again. HC was down 9 at the half and lucky it was only that. The Jeff Jones pathetic call out of a Jave bloody elbow, symapthetically handing him a towel as if to be a good sport but wit a $#!++^ smirk on his face got the crowd riled up. Then the near fight between Greg Kinsey abd Steven Miles. The unreal comeback, B Wil's two dagger threes at the end, followed by Cresniks miss at the buzzer and Miles storming off the court and putting a dent in the Hart Center door on the way out ... oh yes. OH YES. That one was the shiznit. Not kidding. If anyone has this game in any format and can make a copy, PM me and I will send you $50 without thinking twice about it.
