That didn’t take long. I assume the hoops site will have something soon on our four new recruits. The athletic web site has an above the fold report, complete with a collage, of our seven incoming recruits.

I wonder why ADMB said 8 at the webinar? Someone out there who has not yet signed a LOI?

I don't think he would have been on the list of those joining the team, since he was already here.

I wonder why ADMB said 8 at the webinar? Someone out there who has not yet signed a LOI? When the numbers get high enough, being off by one isn’t a big deal. But I wouldn’t be shocked if we added someone else, probably a transfer, before summer ends.

I don't think he would have been on the list of those joining the team, since he was already here. I don't recall exactly what ADMB said but I think he meant to say Brett has recruited 8 players so far. Today's announcement doesn't use NLI... the November announcement did.

How many college teams do you join where you pretty much get your choice of numbers? All except 0,4,11,15 and 24.
Have to look at the bright side.

Those numbers are available. Most recently LeSann 12. As I remember the description, the jerseys were retired, not the numbers.

1) No one wants to be a center anymore, even at 6' 10" and, 2) Joe P's minutes will be easily absorbed by this group.

Add 12, 17(unnecessary), 22, 32 Except 17, which is illegal. BTW, notice how much more popular single digit numbers are these days? Even 0 which you couldn't get a lot of people to wear back in the day

I am looking for someone to wear 55. Can’t remember one. I think Lloyd Hinchey came closest at 54. Joe Phelan wore 50 and I believe Ron Texeira was 50 something.

This is purely from memory and I might be wrong, but I think Don Sasso wore #55.

Me. 1) is an editorial comment about the shrinking number of M&F BB players who label themselves, or who are labeled by their team as centers, from observation only. I half expect to see the position of "middle forward" emerge to join point guard, shooting guard, small forward and power forward. And 2) because we have several new players between 6'4" and 6'6" they may not be able to replace Joe P's production they can replace his minutes.

This may have been asked/discussed, but I’d be interested in opinions:
What do folks think Pridgen’s numbers would have been WITHOUT his significant time on the floor, and WITH a stronger supporting cast around him?
I’m not questioning his talent or his effort, and I certainly wish that he’d be returning in the Fall, but I’m wondering how much JP and his numbers will actually be missed.
Discuss.

It may seem odd by today’s standards, but in the late 1960s the home (white) uniforms would have even numbers, and the away (purple) uniforms would have odd numbers. So Sasso would be #54 at home and #55 when playing away.

Leading scorer by almost 6 ppg Leading rebounder Leading FG% by over 11 pts. Who knows how much he would have scored with stronger teammates or playing fewer minutes ? that is conjecture. His numbers are facts He will be greatly missed

I agree he will be missed, especially at the start of the year. He would still be a leader and that strength will be missed. I am hoping this team will develop, led by the seniors' experience with these coaches last season. By the start of PL play we may see HC scoring more and playing more effective defense. Right now - not having seen our new talent in person - this is a hope, but I believe we can see it in reality in PL competition. Of course, that depends on just how much the coaches get to work with the players between now and when they play as a team. My fingers are crossed.
