Good luck to Marlon. I'm sure there will be a few snickers about his choice, but the Red Flashes did win 22 games and finished 2nd in the NEC.

I don't think we are in much of a position to snicker about anybody. Hargis impressed me as a hard worker, and I hope he enjoys success on and off the court at St. Francis.

In the first 8 games of the ‘19-‘20 season, he shot 27-46 from the floor (.587) and 11-25 on 3s (.440). In his last 13 games before his departure from the team he shot 16-58 (.276) and 2-23 on 3s (.087). I am not sure that I have ever seen a Holy Cross player with such a dramatic shift in in-season performance in one season, particularly a downward shift.
Unlike other departures, where off court issues, culture acceptance, playing time or questions about D-1 ability seemed to explain the dynamic, I was (and continue to be) puzzled about his dramatic drop in performance and eventual mid-season decision.
While he may never have been a starter (or a star) at HC, I continue to believe that he is a D-1 player. I don’t believe that you can put up the stat lines in an 8 game stretch vs. OOC competition (including Maryland and Harvard) that he did and not be capable of contributing to some extent to a D-1 team. I wish him the best in Loretto, PA.
Having said that, I am hopeful that the arrival of 7 new players including Messrs. Townsel, Martindale and Montgomery and the development of the team as a whole will minimize if not totally eliminate the impact of his absence.

Just hope the pressure on the kid was self-imposed and Nelson's approach (whatever that was) wasn't the cause of his game falling apart like that.

Wish Marlon Hargis all the best!
Regarding St. Francis: Each year over the last 5 years, St. Francis has played both American and Lehigh. They are 7 - 3 against them. Losing to both in '18 - '19 and losing to Lehigh in '16 - '17.

Don’t forget to finish your homework!

Did Jehyve's brother play football at St Francis? Yes. I think he redshirted as a Frosh. In his one football season, he played nine games and had one catch for 2 yards and a TD. He was listed as a Soph this year on the basketball roster at St. Thomas, an NAIA school in FL. He did very well there.

Now I’m wondering whether Jahsim might be an option for us. We had some interest in him in high school. If he has two years of eligibility left and would be immediately eligible (no idea if this is true), that might be a great answer for us. His stats in NAIA after not playing for two years look a lot like his brother’s. 7+ ppg, 7+ rpg, almost 3 blocks. High FG%, low FT%.

No highlights of low post moves. One jump shot from 10 feet.

Also was an assistant coach and head coach there. His firing was somewhat controversial.

Interesting. I get the sense there's a story there but Hargis doesn't want to share it with the world

Easy to grasp he didn't care for Nelson. Yeah, this quote really tells you everything you need to know: “I have a whole bunch of respect for (Nelson) and the whole coaching staff, but I don’t think it was the right fit for me,” Hargis said. “I just wanted to move on somewhere else.”

We weren’t very good, but that wasn’t the main focus why I transferred. It was another aspect to add to it,” Hargis said.
