My all-time favorite Crusader basketball player. In addition to being a great basketball player, he was said to be the most popular man on campus. I remember, while dropping my daughter off or picking her up, that I saw him driving his car on Easy Street--looked to be maybe a 10YO Honda Accord beater. I thought how great it was that we attracted such student-athletes and that we did not provide them with new cars as some schools undoubtedly do.

Coach Willard used to tell a story about Torey. There was some pre season workouts that Torey could not attend because there was something for RA's. Coach Willard went to the head of the RA's and said he really needed Torey for the basketball thing and was told the RA people really needed him too. He was just that kid.
In the 21st centuey. the school's standards are much higher than back when they somehow let me in. Still, in a group of 2500 exceptional people , ignoring basketball prowess, Torey was such an outstanding human being that he stood out as exceptional person in that exceptional group
