Just received this from HC ticket office....
Dear ______________,
First and foremost, I hope this note finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. We are keeping you and all of 'Sader Nation in our thoughts daily.
As we look forward to the fall and gathering together with our great football community once again, we hope that you will return to Fitton Field and join us for the 2020 football season on Mount St. James.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28, you will receive notification that your season ticket(s) are available for renewal. I am writing today to alert you of our updated eligibility requirements to retain your Baseball Field parking pass. Beginning with the 2020 season, a minimum purchase of two (2) season tickets in either the Reserved Bleacher or Reserved Cushion sections are required to access a season parking pass in our premier lot on the baseball field.
Your current selection of one (1) Reserved Bleacher does not meet these new requirements. However, as one of our most loyal fans, we want to make sure you receive the first opportunity to maintain your current parking level. To renew your Baseball Lot parking pass, please contact the Holy Cross Ticket Office by phone (1-844-GOCROSS) or email (tickets@holycross.edu) and a sales associate will be happy to adjust your tickets to meet these eligibility minimums.
Please note, the number of Baseball Lot season parking passes available will also correlate with the quantity of season tickets purchased. Tickets in quantities of 2-5 are eligible for one (1) Baseball Lot parking pass. Tickets in quantities of 6-9 are eligible for two (2) passes.
If you would like to continue with your current ticket selection, we would also be happy to secure you the parking passes you need in any of our three alternate lots (Freshman Field, West Lot, Parking Garage, maximum of four total passes).
We look forward to hearing from you, and to seeing you in the near future, when it is safe to gather with our football family once again.
Please contact the Holy Cross Ticket Office to finalize your season ticket and parking selections or for the answers to any questions you have on the information above.
Thank you,
Renee Ricciuti
Director of Ticket Sales & Operations
1-844-GOCROSS
P.S. Please be sure to read tomorrow's email for full information on refund policies and season ticket payment plans!

Has cost $10 per game to get on Freshman field in recent seasons, so $20 a game for the baseball field doesn't seem too outrageous to me for proximity to the stadium, access at halftime, and 60 minutes post game. Plus you get to mingle with the high rollers like Tom. That's worth the full C-note right there. As to the extra ticket, that just means you'll have to bring your driver every week. You can dispatch her with 5:00 minutes to go in the game to get the post-game tailgate food warmed up or warm-up (or cool down) the car as the weather may dictate!

The way things have been going, I expected something like no parking/tailgating allowed until further notice.

This certainly does not anticipate any social distancing in September which may be unrealistic.

It seems an odd time to be monkeying with parking requirements and prices in the middle of a pandemic with a real chance football season will, at a minimum, be impacted in a real way. I’d try to keep every season ticket holder I could. At least they’re not trying the “points” model that NP dabbed his toe into briefly.

The new hires in HC Athletics are establishing new cultures and running off the deplorables.

Maybe that’ll inspire people to come into the stadium on gameday instead of staying out on the baseball field!

The reason why you have hundreds of people still on the baseball field is the parents of students (not football parents). The parents "host" tailgates and next thing you know all of Wheeler dorm is in the baseball lot drinking and partying. These rules will not stop the problem and will just aggravate current season ticket holders.

Would much rather they explained at least some of the rationale for the change rather than just roll it out, but I don't think the intent of the new rules are to get people off the field at kickoff.
We saw one of ADMB's goals in 2019-20 was to close the budget gap in the athletics dept. 50%. I'm sure he's been challenged to close that gap in 2020-21 and so this is one step to help with that.
On the less pragmatic front, I'd guess they saw an increased demand last year and are anticipating greater demand for spots on the baseball field this year - COVID-19 not withstanding. And, believe it or not (and I know many of you will not) suspect the college would rather people use the baseball field for tailgating not just as a convenient parking spot. Someone with 2 people in the car are more likely to actually tailgate. If you just want a close parking spot, the garage should work fine, is cheaper, and it's a short walk to the baseball field if you want to meet folks down there to tailgate. And it's always open regardless of weather.

Some supply and demand going on here. There's someone that tailgates with us who has been trying to get a baseball pass for four years - and this is a member of the President's Council. There are some people who put tickets under different names to get the extra pass. This will discourage that.

For what it's worth. to get onto the baseball field, your ticket has to be a reserved ticket. I've had general admission for years because you can pretty much sit where you want

I am looking forward to a time when this sort of minor annoyance will be a major problem in the score of things...because so many things are going well, and we will have actual GAMES to watch!

Obviously those are first come, first serve. Definitely 2018 and maybe 2019 Homecomings had sufficient rain the day before that the baseball field was closed. HoJo's lot was pretty full each time. I have no idea if late arriving people with HoJo's passes were turned away. Last game of 2018, all fields were closed and we parked in the garage. No grilling allowed

Word on the street is that HC will be building a temporary, tiered parking structure in center field of the baseball field to allow for a “drive-in” game experience if fans are not allowed in the stadium. $1000 per car. Well worth it.

Well worth it. Word on Easy Street is that you are the lead donor to this project. Definitely. The 529 accounts are fully funded with the $1.762M required to send all the kids to HC so now I’m just looking for a good home for all this extra cash.

Well I still have plenty of room in my 401K and would be happy to have invest in my retirement. I promise any contribution you make will go to directly to my and my wife’s happiness & welfare and not a penny of yours will go to my children or future grandchildren. And we’ll be sure to recognize your generous gift and name every substantial purchase after you ... the HC92 European Tour, the HC92 Nantucket Ocean Front Villa, the HC92 Tesla, the HC92 Hip & Knee, replacements, the HC92 Coronary Bypass Surgery ...

Thinking of endowing a European vacation to be awarded annually to the poster of the year (mine will be the only vote that counts so some of you shouldn’t get your hopes up).
