I always liked the uniforms with Holy above the number and Cross below. Not a big fan of the Holy Cross above the number look. Anyone else care to weigh in. There is a full-length picture of Ronnie Perry out there with a uniform I really like. Potter-Vicens look is a close second.

Agree trimster. I liked the ones from the Willard early years, with the big letters. Course I would not be opposed to the names on the back too, but I'm prepared for a "there's no I in team" lecture.

At this point, any purple basketball (or football) uniform would like great even if it had the stinkin' "HC Shield" logo.

Course I would not be opposed to the names on the back too I never saw the point of names on a home uniform. Everyone should know who their own players are. I might make an exception to that rule for 2020-21

You would be referring to the unis that had as it's third color something in the lavender family, something you don't see anywhere any more. They were pretty nice. The Potter/Vicens ones were North Carolina knockoffs (at least the North Carolina of the 70s). I always liked them; if they came back the shorts would, of course, be a lot longer; although not as long as a few years ago. I also liked that the last 3 years they wore them, 75-77, were, really good seasons.

I like that look! and I hated the black uniforms they wore for a few games a few years back...Names on the back, I agree with Tom, Not at home but on the road..and maybe at home for national TV games.....

NAD you know my stance on names, yes home and yes away. Being in the printing business since 2004, My company has printed many of uniforms. Names are huge, they make a uniform look complete and kids love it! Also numeral choice (I do not like HC's numerals and never have) go back to collegiate style 8" on back and 4" on front with HOLY-Arched Top and CROSS straight under the #.
PS, Save the Name on the front is more important than the name on the back garbage!!

Here's a few samples thru the years. Some harder to see than others and you have to imagine a bit with the black & white pics. Enjoy & Choose your favorite. Cousy - late 40's. Digging the belt. Togo circa 1954. Hard to see, but note Gothic Style Lettering Heinsohn circa 1956. Not exactly the Palmer Method on that script Ed Suidut late 1960's. High arch on the font. Chris Potter - circa 1976. Pretty basic. No lavender yet. Pretty close to some more recent versions that I've liked. Note: the blog I'm mirroring this photo from is crediting a blog that occassional poster Jon wrote in the mid 2000's. I'm sure Jon got it from an HC page but I'm sure he's happy to take credit for it! Ronnie Perry assume 1980 since this is when he broke Jack the Shot's scoring record. Classic look, not a big fan of the lavender as it seems more prominent than the royal purple - the official color of the school. I think there's an interlocking HC on the left leg of the shorts. Tim Szatko - 2002 Not a fan of the font. Andrew Beinert ~ 2011 Malachi Alexander 2014 - Close call between this one and the one Beinert is wearing for my favorite look

Nice to walk down the path of nostalgia in seeing the uniforms from teams past. My favorite style, color, fabric material, fit and wearability were from the early 2000’s as seen in the picture with Tim Szatko and Pat Whearty. For the immediate future HC uniforms for men and women teams are limited to the style and custom color palette provided by Adidas. The link below will provide options: uniforms.adicustom.com/m-basketball/uniforms.adicustom.com/w-basketball/ I always root for all teams in uniforms regardless of sport and color ( Purple, White, Black or Gray) that represent The College of the Holy Cross. Will be very happy to be able to see the teams live and in action when it is safe for all regardless of age or pre existing conditions. Maybe E-Sports for 2020-2021, that way we can change uniforms styles for each game played. Easier to do retro with E-Sports with current players.

CHC,
The picture of the 1969 jersey is Ed Siudut in the background and #54 is Don Sasso. Either that year or shortly thereafter the uniforms had the names on the back for a brief period.
Quiz question: who is #40 for BC in that photo and what was his link to Holy Cross?
Quiz question #2: Same question for #50?

BC # 50 is Terry Driscoll. BC # 40 I thought might be Jim Kissane, Bob Kissane’s older brother but the pic was taken in the ‘68-‘69 season and Jim Kissane graduated from BC in June of ‘68 so, at the moment, I’m stumped on #40.

No clue on the quiz question, but after looking at the uniforms again, I'd like to have the 2014 version back (with names on the back at least for the road) - aggressive looking, in your face style.

Two wild guesses
Downey possibly related to Doug Downey?
not sure about the Jersey number other option would be Vin Costello who I believe was the brother of Fran Costello from Providence , but only connection to HC might be they each scored to win the game?
no idea

Quiz question: who is #40 for BC in that photo and what was his link to Holy Cross? Quiz question #2: Same question for #50? Picture is from the T&G story following Ed's death in 2012. Assumed the picture featured Ed front & center. But sometimes it helps to actually read the caption on the photo, which also ID's others in the photo, .

It was my error in the Quiz. #40 I was certain was BC's Jim Kissane. But it is not. He graduated the year before. All I can say is, if that is Fitzgerald, he has a very strong resemblance to Jim K. LOL
hchoops nailed the second part of the quiz on Terry Driscoll.

Fitzgerald probably wishes he went to Holy Cross. Does that count as a connection?
