College athletics is so different from 30 years ago, when coaches and administrators became ingrained in an institution and ended their careers with a building, court, or field named after them after several decades of service to the institution. Seems as there is a new 21st century model both in business and in athletics. Make a name for yourself, appear to be a rising star, then quickly move on before their is sufficient longitudinal information to provide any weakness in your management or coaching abilities. The days of an AD or coach, president or ceo staying at an institution for decades appear to be over. A key example is Gordon Gee, currently president of West Virginia University for the second time. Formerly president of Brown, The Ohio State University, University of Colorado, and Vanderbilt. Gee has held more university presidencies than any other American. In another thread, it was mentioned that Gee stated he was going to suit up if necessary for football this fall, and is ready to tape up his ankles. My question .... for which team, by the fall, with his record, Gee may no longer be at West Virginia. 🙄 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Gordon_Gee

Great post and appreciate the qualifier "some" as I, for one, never looked to fire Gilmore or even Brown. Can't be sure about Kearny (can't recall, but don't think I did). As for complaining and criticizing, isn't that what Crossports is for? I think it's a requirement in the bylaws.
