Can't confirm of course, but someone on the Canisius board indicated the victim was Scott Hitchon. What a year.

this is terrible and i'm surprised we haven't heard more about it. trash talk is one thing, but when is the last time a player on one team stabbed or seriously injured a player on another team?!? although having just looked at the profiles of both malik zachery and scott hitchon, with surface appearance being all that seems to matter these days to those who make the news, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised as it is unlikely to become a major story. naturally, had hitchon stabbed zachery, every news media outlet would have already featured this on the front page with fiery but peaceful demonstrations underway. what a year, indeed!

Reminiscent of Providence College point guard Dwight Williams, late 70s, who got in a scuffle and subsequently stabbed a PC baseball player.
Coach Gavitt wasn't as lenient w/Williams as he was w/Marvin Barnes. Williams was canned right away.
(edit) and Williams was from Buffalo, of all places.
