I like the idea of a cap on the number of games each college player can play in during the calendar year of 2021. That would add new strategy, give more student athletes a chance to play and reward well coached teams with good depth like Holy Cross.

My prediction is the PL follows the ACTP model and strings everyone along, only to eventually announce that there will be no spring season.

Interesting take. Will keep that in mind as things develop.

Perhaps the pandemic-related results from the big playing in the fall will allow the Patriot League to make an intelligent decision.

Would not be surprised if HC is the only PL school not to play.
No facts, just a hunch.

Would not be surprised if HC is the only PL school not to play. No facts, just a hunch. We do seem to be having more than our share of issues (relative to our PL peers) and I don’t know how we get our footing back regarding campus reopening next semester. And if campus remains essentially closed, I don’t see the logic in competing. So, IMHO, you may be on to something.

Hopefully HC is able to get students back on campus after the winter recess. If that happens, football should be a go. I’m hearing that the hope is to bring the team back sometime before the rest of the students return to campus in order to prepare for a spring season. We do have a definite competitive advantage over our fellow PL members with a first-class indoor practice facility. Even a PL schedule of games, with perhaps 1-2 non-conference opponents who are within driving distance of each PL school would be a great outcome given the obstacles that exist.

I do not see what will change between now and then to allow this to happen.

As I've mentioned in other threads, whatever the IVY does, the always follow, never lead PL will do. Mark it down.
