What about the pros. The Bills, Yankees, and Mets have all travelled for more than 24 hours without quarantine? They do it with really aggressive testing. Why can the Yankees go to Tamps for 3 days but St Johns can't go to Orlando?

Possibly the cost of testing, especially during the 14 days of quarantine upon return These days would also disrupt practice and subsequent games

Possibly the cost of testing, especially during the 14 days of quarantine upon return These days would also disrupt practice and subsequent games The Yankees and Mets don't quarantine when they return because they get tested right before they come back and supposedly have a negative test result the day before or so. If the NY colleges don't want to pay for tests, that's one thing, but if the pros can go to Florida for a few days and come back without a quarantine by testing, the colleges should have that same option

Because the pros get paid millions, the rights to broadcast the games cost many millions, and this is their job. There are union provisions for testing and healthcare and benefits and financial protection and easy grounds to go after the employers.
The college player is a student first and foremost (allegedly, somewhere, at some time), who does not get paid anything. If there is even minimal risk, with moderate or increased expense to go along with it, what's the reward? Sure, I want to watch almost any of them play, but the billion dollar Yankees or Mets going to Florida is a bit different from twelve18-22 year old amateurs.
