The Ivy League will not play college basketball this season, or any other winter sports, sources told CBS Sports. Story: t.co/COFUgnAxRE

If the PL does not follow suit, might that signal a new start for the league?

I guess there will be no fans at Ivy League gyms this winter.

Anybody on these teams worth anything as a ballplayer (and, yes, there are plenty of them these days) no doubt headed elsewhere.
In fact, they'd probably be eligible for the second semester, which is, for a lot of teams, most if not all of the season.

They would need a special waiver to be eligible for the second semester. They just may receive it.

This decision could very well extend into spring sports as lax, baseball and softball all begin sanctioned practices in the end January/early February period The PL needs to go their own way with spring sports also

Other than Cornell, the Ivies (and GU) are apparently sticking to their plan of rotating which class years are on-campus during a semester. Because of this, team rosters would be half-strength.
To my knowledge, no PL school engaged in this sort of class year rotation.

And spring sports competition will be postponed through at least the end of February 2021” www.bostonglobe.com/2020/11/12/sports/ivy-league-cancels-all-winter-sports-according-multiple-reports/PL needs to go another way this spring regarding football also.

Out of the 20 they usually have on the roster? Seems like odd class distribution.

That being said, I appreciate that it would likely be difficult to discern the true motivation for such a PL decision.
