I'm probably alone on this, but I like the requirement to sit a year.
It was hinted at in the PL preview that the HC players were in a unique situation with the timing of the coaching transition. Maybe there wasn't sufficient time to explore options and get the automatic coaching change waiver. In general, however, I think decisions should have consequences. You make a commitment to a program, that should mean something. Backing out of that commitment should have some level of cost. Sitting for a year is a minor cost, but it gives the life lesson that commitments mean something and shouldn't be made lightly
On the flip side, recruitment is the dirtiest part of college athletics. If there's no requirement to sit a year, coaches might be more likely to tamper with current students. Heck, they could do away with high school recruiting at all and just wait to see how a kid handles low level D-I competition.
Just one man's rant. All that being said, I did DVR the Fairfield game this afternoon to see how old friend Caleb looks

Scored 10 and grabbed 8 rebounds. 4/5 from the field as well. Nice to see a former Sader play well at that level

Eastern Michigan was minus six players. Though most apparently were front court. From the bit I watched, seemed Izzo and both teams tried not to be that aggressive. Given the short bench, one would want to keep a player(s) from fouling out.

A Tom Izzo team would never try “not to be that aggressive.” Lowder was left in and committed his third foul in the first half. 3-12, 1-8 from 3 3 assists, 2 turnovers

Providence and Georgetown, as you might expect, using their campus gyms, just like the old days.
Wonder if Seton Hall is playing at Walsh Auditorium?
UMBC has a guy playing listed at 5-2.

That would be the multi-transferred Darnell Rogers 2019-20: Played in just seven games with six starts before a season-ending injury in late November… Averaged 14.0 ppg, shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from three in seven games… Dished out 30 assists and grabbed 3.4 rpg… Scored 23 points twice against Nicholls State (11/24) and Georgian Court (11/6) and had a 21 point performance against FGCU… Recorded a double-double against Valley Forge with 14 points and 10 assists… Named to Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic All-Tournament Team. Background: Transfer from New Mexico Junior College where he averaged 14.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 3.7 apg in one season with the Thunderbirds… Prior to NMJC, he played one year at Florida Gulf Coast where he played in 20 games scoring a season-high 11 points against Weber International… Was the leading scorer at Indian Land High School despite not playing his senior season… Scored 41 points in back-to-back games in high school… All-County Lancaster Player of the Year in 2013-14 and two-time Region 4-2AA Player of the Year ... started at point guard on the varsity level since 7th grade and helped Indian Land go 86-23, leading the school – as a team captain – to the Upper State Final Four twice ... in 2013-14, Indian Land won its first Region 4-2AA Championship in 30 years and won it again in 2014-15… Lists favorite pro team as the Los Angeles Lakers and favorite musical artists as Meek Mill and Shy Glizzy… Has one sibling, Terrell… Son of Sherrell and Shawnta Rogers… Father Shawnta played at George Washington University, who was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 1999.

His pop was about the same size.
Watched a little of the game. When I first spotted him, I thought "wow, he'd have to look up to Justin Burrell!".

They said there was a single game there a few years ago, but it wasn't the regular home of the Friars in 40 years. I did not know that PC has so much Crusader envy that they named their court after an HC guy (Joe Mullaney '49)

Well HC played there in ‘64. Our freshman team lost to Jimmie Walker, Dexter Westbrook, Mike Riordan, etc. We gave them their closest game—16 points.

A chem lab sits in its location now. Cage is still open at UMass and used for pick-up games, intramurals, etc.

Power gym is still used for volleyball. Roberts Center razed in 1991 for a chemistry building, as noted by ACTP.
Roberts was closed during the 1988-89 season, when Conte opened.

They had a hockey rink, McHugh Forum, too. Conte sits more on that land than where Roberts Center was. There's also a football facility, Yawkey Center (BC alum John Harrington made sure the Yawkey Trust was very, very good to BC), close to the chemistry building (or maybe the 'chemistry building' is their weight rooms, lol).
