From Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun AWP started at 2:30 If Army and Navy can play then why can't a school with only 4 athletic teams, probably 80-90 students, play an OOC schedule. So much for uniformity.

So much for uniformity. Yes. Not allowing each school to make its own decisions on OOC games was an incredibly bad decision by the PL presidents. Playing games in December, with proper guidelines in place and virtually no students on campus, is not high risk.

How do you think our players feel right now seeing Army and Navy playing multiple games and on national tv to boot ! It’s really not too late to loosen up these draconian measures imposed on the non-military PL teams. Plenty of teams within a 2 hour drive that are looking for games in December

AWP playing out of their minds - up 2 with 2 1/2 minutes left - regardless of the outcome they appear to have plenty of pieces this season

Army failed to score in the last 2 1/2 minutes and lost 76-69

Pre-game, KenPom gave Army a 5% chance of winning the game

So much for uniformity. Probably a silly question, but what school are you talking about? From context I would have guessed HC, but HC has more than 4 teams even in the winter

Just guessing he means 4 teams on campus: men & women basketball and the same 2 for hockey.

I'm as guilty as the next guy of caring more about some sports than others. I also don't really understand the concept of how playing B.U, is safer than playing U Lowell.
But, going back to the devil's advocate, is playing basketball safer than track and field? Is the logic that the scholarship athletes need to "earn" their education?

I wonder how much consensus there was among PL leaders, (I assume we are talking Presidents only when it comes to this decision), about the conference only schedule.

Army just announced that they picked up a game vs. LaSalle this Sunday at home - that's 5 games and counting that they will have played before PL action - a big advantage (their women's team has played a similar number of games as well)

COVID 19, in many cases, has driven logic out the window. Sports is no exception.

The league that just keeps on giving. What's next? I'm betting it involves the eligibility issue the NCAA has created by saying this winter sports season doesn't count against your 4 years of eligibility.

Down as much as 15 in the 1st, Army beat LaSalle yesterday to finish OOC schedule (weren't they lucky to have one) at 3-1

Ken Pomeroy has Army at #212. Army has not finished a year ranked in top 200 since it was #158 in 2012-2013

So much for uniformity. I heard an interesting comment today. Basically saying that Army and Navy get to play OOC games when no one else does because their players don't really get an extra year of eligibility like everyone else. Austin and Matt might use that extra year next year and play in grad school someplace. Seniors at Army and Navy don't have that option because they will start active military duty as soon as they graduate. An interesting take on the situation that I had not thought of

An interesting take on the situation that I had not thought of I doubt that is the reason. The PL allowed Army and Navy to participate in fall sports - unlike the rest of the PL - long before the NCAA voted to give fall participants an extra year of eligibility. The reason for the different treatment for Army and Navy is simply that their AD's and Presidents stood up to the other PL Presidents. I am sure that the same thing happened with winter sports.
