Had to take note of this. "We are thrilled and honored to partner with the Holy Cross Crusaders," said Peak Sports MGMT President Ryan Holloway. "To partner with an incredible brand that is both strong athletically and academically is always an exciting moment for Peak Sports. This partnership is extra special working with an elite institution in an exclusive conference. We are ready to fully immerse ourselves into Worcester and the Holy Cross community!"
I look forward got seeing how this will change the HC Sports landscape. It could, if all goes well, be a big step forward that could address some of the complaints about our tradition way of doing tnhings that appear on CROSSPORTS from time to time.
Any thoughts?

Some thought in no particular order:
-HC had been engaged prior with a similar outfit that only worked decent at the very beginning when they had a local guy who knew Worc, the local bizs, and understood the lay of the land in greater Worc and HC's long dismissal of engaging the local casual fans (not working to build a younger fan base). All subsequent hires struggled, as they were not locals, and had no connections. People with significant ties to Worc are MUST hires for the two positions at HC, and one is really all that is needed - at least initially.
-Previous outfit was geared toward 1A schools - worked with NP at UMD. This outfit is geared toward smaller 1AA and below division schools. This may be a plus.
-Peak is based in TX, and doesn't have a northeast school on its roster. Things are done much differently in this neck of the woods as to sponsorship sales. There will be a steep learning curve for the Peak brass in an area dominated by pro sports interest.
-The Worc Sox have eaten up a huge portion of local sponsorship $. There is only so much local $ to go around. Securing new sponsors beyond ones HC already has relationships with will be very difficult. HC was not proactive when advised to be so prior to the Worc Sox announcement, and the types of bizs HC traditionally targeted don't exactly have extra $ these days.
-Amount of fans in the stands starting in the fall will dictate a lot: if there is limited capacity advertisers don't like to spend $ to advertise to empty seats.
-This will be nearly 100% on-site venue and digital advertising/sponsorships. No other aspects of any value are available.
All in all - it good that HC has engaged with another outfit, but time will tell if it's the right outfit for a school of HC's ilk and location.

ACTP:
Who was the group before Peak? I don’t remember them. Guess they were not effective in getting the message out.

Crucis - initial group brought in by NP was Outfront Media Sports under the name of Crusader Sports Properties. They were bought by Playfly this past fall. HC left Outfront about 2 years ago and took in in-house where it has been since.

If this arrangement is one dollar more lucrative for Holy Cross than doing it in house, fine. Too bad HC couldn't partner with B.C. and offer the Worcester market to all their advertisers for a small additional fee with one of their reps coming out to Worcester two or three days a week to shake the trees among Central Mass only advertisers on behalf of HC.
Two Jesuit colleges forty miles apart but initiatives to support each other aren't that noticeable.

^ One of the current Learfield/BC Sports Properties reps was the last HC/Outfront rep before HC took it in house, so this ain't happening.
