This will be a horrific product.
But it would be great if this pushes college to adopting a 2- or 3-year minimum commitment. The college product is continuing to slip due to too many 1-and-done players and a lack of pre-college development from AAU teams emulating the atrocious modern NBA.
College hoops should be doing whatever it can to differentiate itself from the NBA.

ESPN has been showing Ignite (the G league team w/players who didn't want to go to college) scores on its ticker. No idea why, even if you have some interest in the players on that team, who gives a rat's behind whether they win or not.

I don't see how this is sustainable unless someone like the NBA underwrites the thing. Will fans come and pay to watch the games to cover costs? Will people care enough to put it on TV?
Will it rely on owners who are mega rich enough to consider the expense of running a team chump change compared to the prestige of owning a sports team?

Kid blows out his knee and loses his college scholarship but keeps his game check from the Peach Fuzz League.
