"to pursue a masters degree" suggests to me that this is one smart fellow who has a plan and is using his basketball skill to pay for his education. The goal is the degree and more basketball is the vehicle, not the goal. I could be wrong but that makes sense to me

Good Luck to him! He and Austin will carry the Holy Cross name proudly where ever they play!

The goal is the degree and more basketball is the vehicle, not the goal. I could be wrong but that makes sense to me Option 1: Get a job and work for the next 40-50 years. Option 2: Get an extra year in college, play basketball, get a free master’s degree, then get a job and work for the next 40-50 years. Doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist to choose between these options.

This choice presumes that Matt and/or Austin actually have the first option. Either of course could go to grad school if they do not receive a scholarship.

If obtaining a grad transfer scholarship slot will be more challenging for next season due to the extra year of eligibility given to all, that might mean it will be less challenging to play as a pro internationally as some of the usual competition will be playing a fifth year in the U.S.
