Sad to hear another of the major figures of my youth has now left us. I agree that was their best song. I had a first pressing of their first album for many years - then gave it to one of my students who was a record collector. May Don's soul rest in peace and his recordings live on.

The Everly Brothers were a little before my time but I've downloaded a lot of their music. Their harmonies were incomparable. IIRC they were a huge influence on the Beatles (and many others).

Lots of good music. Huge influence on Simon & Garfunkel who covered a couple of their songs

Wake Up Little Susie was so risque for its time that it was banned by some radio stations in Boston

My personal favorite:
Linda Ronstadt also did an excellent, sped up rendition:

Walk Right Back (listening to it on youtube while I'm typing this). Great harmonies.

My favorite Everly Brothers song is "So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad)."
In reading his obituary, two things stood out for me. The first is that he was married four times (see above paragraph). The second, and more impressive, is that he is survived by his mother. Some searching indicates that Margaret Everly was born in November 1919, so she will be 102 come November.

This is my favorite song also. Pretty heartbreaking. It was also sad that the brothers were estranged for so many years.
