Hope we continue to look to throw ball down field. There are lots of opportunities the defense gives us every game we can take advantage. Great win! Next Harvard!!

Monmouth is a legit FCS Top 25ish team....different world today....as others have stated, they are a very veteran team, have made some noise in the FCS playoffs the last couple years, had won 19 of their last 20 games on their home field etc... May have been a dreaded KY75 'trap game" for them....but we were dominant in literally every phase of the game today....it may not have the cachet of an FBS win ovah UConn or a win at Yale but this was was our best overall win as a program in awhile, particularly in the fashion of how we won. It’s almost like we shouldn’t drop the program anymore?

For those who did not see the fake punt play in the third quarter --

Well, another swing and a miss in that I figured 1 of 3 outcomes: 1. A losing rout (wrong team! ) 2. A close loss (wrong amount) 3. A close win (not really very close) The saving grace was I did project the Crusaders to win but I think I underestimated how much our guys wanted this game. I do think they are trying to get us to forget the Merrimack game.

Watching the replay gave an opportunity to see how great the blocking was for Dobbs. Certainly the play of the season.

Every person on this message board...and the staff I'm sure...would have been ecstatic pre-season if someone said they'd be 3-1 after the first four.
The overall talent on this team has not been this deep since the Duffner days. HC finally has a coach that knows how to use scholarships and recruit with them.
I'll say it....looking ahead 10-1 is not out of the realm of possibility for this season. Do I think it will happen? No. You always have to account for the occasional clunker.
Best thing of all of this is people in football circles in CMass and Worcester are taking notice. Chesney has always been a good friend to the local high schools and visa versa. Good things are brewing.
On paper Harvard is the toughest game left. The PL is there's to lose.

Nice win by the Cross.
If 20,000 people went to Brown vs Harvard It’s time for Fitton to be loud and rocking to give us a home field advantage.
On Monmouth, missing two of their best defensive players out for the year did not help.

One minor complaint. When an opp is passing on 4th down, the dbacks coach needs to instruct his guys to simply knock the pass to the ground if there's no chance for a run back. We lost some yards on the interception.

Sensational win today, no doubt.
I still think Bob Chesney is a great football coach. The naysayers ( he can’t coach offense, he can’t beat top teams, etc) may be quiet until our next loss….

Oliver TD. That should clinch it!!!!😊 The bad snap/fumble recovery really ended it. Monmouth couldn't score points quickly enough after that even if HC didn't score.

True....
However an INT is psychologically devastating to the other team, especially the QB. It sends a message that stings on the next offensive series that we can take it away from you.

So the biggest question this week is who gets PL offensive PoW ? Siderman ? Ayeni ? Jake ? Defense should be another given for Jake
A truly balanced attack 32 rushes 31 passes

Ayeni. However, the guys in the trenches are the players of the week for almost all wins. The linemen make the team rumble.

And God forbid you go to knock it down and deflect it into the waiting arms of an offensive player who trots into the end zone. Overall it was a good teaching moment for situational football but no decision on the field is risk free.

I’ve got to think that Jacob Dobbs cannot take the smile off his face, not about the three sacks but about the 41 yard reception. A half dozen years ago Emmitt Smith spoke at my company (he endorsed one of our brands) and I should have asked him not about the miles of yards gained or 100+ touchdowns, but about the one pass he threw in his NFL career. As a Cardinal running back he threw a 21 yard touchdown pass.

One issue, I don’t think it’s fair that Dean blocks bfoley82 on Saturday nights after our big wins.
