Massey has HC as a 27 point favorite (37-10). He gives the Crusaders a 97% chance to win this one. I wonder how HC will play at Bucknell with Holy Cross fans in the stands? I am assuming that some will manage to get in there this time.

OK, to save some time, I'll mention that with nothing to lose (and a chance to save their season) for the Bison and with nothing on the line for HC and looking forward to the playoffs, this could be seen by some as a _rap game...and something very much like this happened not that long ago.

This is ‘not’ a trap game by any analysis - a) not with this coaching staff and b) with an opponent which might be the absolute worst team in all of FCS - do you realize just how bad the Bison are ? How they beat Cornell was a small miracle

Well, clearly then miracles do happen. I remember that upset by Bucknell and hope to never see that happen again.

I watched a replay of their loss to Army. They do have some talent and a young QB who can throw a good ball. He has only been starting for four games. I see HC winning by at least 4 touchdowns, but sometimes things can happen that can impact the final result...such as fumbles or a kickoff where HC gets hit with 2 penalties and two fumbles (by the same back) giving the ball to the opponent in our own red zone. Yes, I do see how badly Bucknell has been playing, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

Do we rest anyone?
Any starting player thats at all banged up should sit IMO unless they really are adamant they need the reps.
I would minimize Slukas playing time just bc his style of play with all the juking, twisting, turning and power running scares me in a lame duck game like this.
I'd have Siderman in for 3+ quarters as we may well need his arm in the playoffs and he could for sure use the reps.
I think our defense smothers Bucknell and we leave Lewisburg with a solid 23-3 win.

The only thing positive I can detect from that Bucknell/Army box score is that the Bison didn't give up many big plays....just a boatload of little ones (Army avg per carry, 7 yards).
No turnovers (by HC), not close on Saturday.
If I was in the traveling mode, I'd save a trip in anticipation of having to go somewhere on the 27th.

Well, clearly then miracles do happen. I remember that upset by Bucknell and hope to never see that happen again. The Bucknell teams of that era actually defeated the PL champ on senior day in Lewisburg twice in a span of 3 years. They did it to Fordham in 2007 and us two years later in 2009. I don't think it will really affect much even if we lose but we don't want to give the committee another reason to spurn us on a home game in the Round of 24 since the locker room situation is already the giant elephant in the room. Lights are the least of my worries as temps can be arranged.

I think our defense smothers Bucknell and we leave Lewisburg with a solid 23-3 win. Assuming that Siderman is a team player, and sat for the second-half at Fordham without complaint, I'd give him the start in Lewisburg, and only use Sluka to give Marco an occasional breather. Late in the game (assuming we're holding a comfortable lead), I'd throw in some Pesansky and maybe a little Wiegel. Maybe more important that a "W" on Saturday, is that the team returns to Worcester injury-free.

That assumes Wiegel's #14 jersey isn't appropriated again by Kreimer (#81, #0 , , , ). Believe Kreimer was back to wearing #14 (Weigel's jersey) again against Fordham.
I leave it to the more expert posters here but thought we were limited to 63 players for away games. Bucknell being an away game, Weigel may not be making the trip - at least not officially. I support Siderman starting and Pesanskly playing more if the score allows.

Do you think the PL could spend 10 minutes making a video highlight for the championship team the Holy Cross Crusaders so we can see some of those touchdowns again or is that to much to ask?

Clearly, you are asking a lot. Let's see what shows up on the PL "plays of the week."

Maybe more important that a "W" on Saturday, is that the team returns to Worcester injury-free. In my mind, the primary goal this Saturday, like with every other game on the schedule, is to win the game. We “exhaled” a bit after the win over UCONN, and paid the price by losing at home against a good (but lesser) team. The starters need to be prepared to play the whole game- no different than with any other game on the schedule. The first goal of any team, in any college sport, is a league championship. We have a share already but let’s win it outright before we start making travel plans for the following week. Bucknell has some very good, scholarship football players on their squad. They will be going “all out”. We will need to do so as well to avoid a repeat of what occurred in Lewisburg in 2009.

I believe that Chesney will not allow a repeat of 2009. All will be prepared to play- and win. (Bucknell is terrible.)

...and many more throughout the year. With so many alums on Wall St., Fordham should be able to fund a new rug. They should support Rams FB which had a good season.

I think with home field possibly on the line, we go out and win (you play to win the game) but you rest your starters after the 1st if you have a 10 or 14 point lead. Love to see Pesansky get some playing time late.
