For the first time this season I dared peak at the individual stats for the guys, and was drawn to the Assists/Turnovers (know its already been mentioned on the board, but)....
RJJ/Dorsey: 9 assists to 2 turnovers
Rest of team (might want to have your Thanksgiving dinner first): 54/104
I have to think that as RJJ (and Dorsey too) can help as they get more time, just by getting the ball to guys in places where they can score before they turn it over. I mean, it just has to get better; that current ratio has to be one of the worst in the history of college basketball.
Would be interesting to see a lineup with those 2 on the floor at the same time.

And these stats factor in games against teams who struggle dribbling with their off hand, too.
We rank in the bottom ten in assists / field goals made and turnover percentage.

Come on, Dave! You know it’s Thanksgiving, right? Sorry - should have waited until after dessert. Then you can also post about Kalif’s two TDs leading the Lions to their first win of the season.

Our opponents on the other hand are having no such problems. We are in the bottom 25 in the country in terms of opponent’s assist to turnover ratio. I would think one thing that indicates is we play very poor defense as our opponents appear to be getting good looks at the hoop.

While Dave has given the specific numbers, anyone who's watched this team shouldn't be surprised. To use the cliche, they "don't value the ball" as a team. To the eye, they do seem to be doing slightly better but that might be because false improvement is possible playing a D3 team.
Agree that having RJ and Gates back should help.
Let's see how the team does against UNH on Saturday to see if we've turned a turnover corner.
P.S. Cat good, NAD?

I think a lot of the TO's are just inexperience..Young players trying to do what they did at the prep/high school level. Not uncommon. I hope as the season moves on, these young players will learn from their mistakes...Remember how few games of experience this team is playing with!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

I think if this team had a Butler type Jr/Sr on the floor this year, turnovers would be reduced, and he would give them the leadership that is missing. That will need to come from RJ and Dorsey, but it will take time
Happy Thanksgiving

Well, like many of us here, she has some "aches and pains" of sorts to deal with, but outside of that all is well; thanks for asking.
Looking forward to tomorrow; hoping for a great day!
