Thank God that still leaves four or five other Loyolas.🙂 NFL is postponing some games, too.

Which Loyola were you referring to? The PL one or the one from Chicago that plays closer to Duke's level?
I don't find Covid funny, but the number of colleges named Loyola is.

Loyola Md was scheduled to replace Cleveland St vs Duke tmro - but abv post refers to that game being cancelled now by the Greyhounds. Iona has MSG reserved for tmro and are looking for a last minute opponent since Seton Hall just pulled out of their game.

It would be nice for the NCAA to throw Iona a life line and waive any maximum number of games restrictions for last minute replacement teams. If another team is rested and healthy, get the game in as there are no future guarantees of being able to play a full season.

Couldn't they move some of the games to campus gyms, push come to shove? Just to avoid the forfeits.

Covid protocols are again striking a season. (Perhaps a tweaking of the protocols might be in order.)

Having not seen the contracts for facility rentals in building not owned by the 7 of the 10 schools noted, one could speculate, that if the play was moved to another building, without consent of the lessor, by the lessee, instead of cancellation, could invoke an additional series of financial penalties for the schools involved. Botton line, when you are playing your entire varsity season in a building you do not own, your flexibility to reschedule a game is extremely limited. The Big East setup is not the ice cream and lollipops that many envision and believe.

Little Holy Cross would be bleeding money. The Hart Center arenas are fully paid for and haven't been too small for a game since the last sellout of either arena in _____?

The Big East has not been the Bonanza that has provided an enormous pot of gold that many had assumed would happen. High operational cost.

Nice being in a league, struggling through four misses in coaching hires, and still not having to worry about the stronger members of the league bolting for better competition elsewhere.

I don't see any sports cut in the last ten years from any of the current Big East squads (except for UConn and the three programs they did) as Providence for one upgraded their Men's Lacrosse joining Big East Lax and Volleyball into the Big East. And would you like to know how many were added? Xavier is adding Women's Lax

“Basketball Above All Else”. I’m sure that many are familiar with the term used in another context in history.
The mindset is detrimental to the other intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the institution.

Current Patriot League member Boston University has cut programs within the last ten years with Wrestling getting the boot. They also cut scholarships for Swimming and Diving dailyfreepress.com/2015/10/19/bu-cuts-swimming-and-diving-scholarships/
