Dean, while the decision was made awhile ago to prohibit politics on this board, a decision to which I agreed heartily, I have a request (large or small, depending on one's perspective), and that would be to have a separate thread for Covid, it's ramifications; vaccine effectiveness; its spread; and all things Covid related including what colleges & universities do to combat it and plans to cancel or postpone various athletic events or class and to prohibit its discussion in any sports-related thread.
I am personally tired and suspect I am not the only one, about going to the basketball, football or other sports threads looking for information about the Crusader teams only to encounter diatribes about Covid under the pretense it is about a particular sport. I don't care if you are pro-vaccines, anti-vaccines, pro-mask, anti-mask, NBA, NHL, NBA cancellations or postponements; Trump's your hero, Trump should be put in jail, Biden sucks, Biden's great, Fauci should be jailed or be beatified. When I go to a particular thread, I'm looking for that sport's results, recruits, signings, expected wins and losses, etc.
If a game is going to be canceled or postponed or Holy Cross changes the protocols at the Hart or Fitton, stick it in a Covid thread. If we are interested, we can go there.
And, yes, I know that this might be some additional work as administrator to monitor this but most Crossporters seem to do a decent job of self-monitoring.
If I'm the only one who feels this way, I'm sure folks will chime in and, if I'm in the distinct minority, forget about it, I may just have to go on a Christmas hiatus.

I agree sader1970 everyone should keep their political opinions to themselves. I have mine but I don’t share them on Crosssports. This is for all of us that truly care about HC sports. End of story!

COVID is just as much apart of the sports landscape as recruiting and rebounds. Has to be part of the discussion.
Politics no.

COVID is just as much apart of the sports landscape as recruiting and rebounds. Has to be part of the discussion. Politics no. Fair to say Covid and the various reactions and overreactions to Covid have permeated all sports including college sports and all colleges including the College of the Holy Cross over the last two years or so. I’m not even sure permeated is a strong enough word. Not a shocker it pops up on the board.

We are all grateful to our experts - schoolteachers & the like. Whenever everyone is an expert then no-one is an expert. The whole matrix of these covid comments by some seems "peculiar." No doubt there is a political implication covered by the fig leaf of covid commentary. Obviously, none are fooled. I am in total agreement with sader 1970. Create a covid thread for me to avoid. Thus, I can spend my time usefully enjoying those posts on HC sports which truly count.
