Congratulations are in order for our 2021 Holy Cross defense lead by Jake Dobbs and coached by Scott James. The NCAA has chosen the Holy Cross defense the #1 defense in (TOTAL) Defense in FCS football. This is a big deal and one we should be very proud of our guys! Huge when it come to recruiting future Crusaders as well.

A great distinction for this year's football team. Keep improving your schemes and building depth on the defensive side of the ball to move the total yardage allowed to around 225 yards per game. Excellent coaching, reading their reads, and tackling the opposition by this talented defense has been well noted by the NCAA. Let's hope Stolsky wants to become part of this staunch defense in the near future.

Three very successful FCS QBs (Muskett, Monmouth; DeMorat, Fordham; and Smith, Nova) looked very mediocre against us. Great ‘D’. Impressive!

Not related to HC Defense, but not worthy of its own thread--here's an Xmas note from Coach Chesney and , below his note, a link to his video Hi KY,
I'd like to wish all of you – current and former student-athletes, my fellow coaches, parents, supporters and donors to football – a happy and healthy holiday season.
We cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for us this past year – from standing in the sleet and rain at Fordham to braving the cold at Fitton Field in our first FCS playoff win vs. Sacred Heart and cheering us on at Villanova. Throughout our season, we felt you, and we needed you. We so appreciate your continued commitment to Crusader Football.
Please see the video above for a holiday message. Thank you again for all of your support this year, and I look forward to seeing you all back on Mount St. James in 2022. I wish you all an amazing holiday and a happy new year. We hope to see you back on Mount Saint James in 2022!
Go Cross Go!

Don't think I got one from Chesney (yet, but I'm on the slow-to-get list from HC) but did get one from both Nelson and Magarity.
Edit: Got it! Love the ending. For all you Crossports detectives, where is Coach Chesney when he videoed this? The Cape? Does he have a house there? Love the "PURPLE!!!" family participation.

You kind of knew something was coming as he paused and was re-positioning the camera. Very nice job, Bob C.!

The most appropriate place for the film to have taken place would have been in the Borough of Fenwick in Connecticut.

From the visible snow, pretty sure it isn't Southern New England....if local, probably Maine somewhere.
