I’ll have you know that the GMGs were picked second in the Atlantic East, which is basically a combination of the Atlantic 10 and the Big East.

Loyola (MD) in the midst of a COVID outbreak. The Greyhounds' game next Tuesday at Maryland has already been cancelled, after their game at Duke on 12/18 and vs. Goucher on 12/21 were also postponed. Terps are looking for an opponent for that game now. Just sayin'. :-)

AU has cancelled Tuesday's game with Siena b/c of health and safety protocols within our program. Supposed to start PL schedule this Saturday vs. Lehigh.

Lehigh is healthy and just accepted a game at Maryland tmro night, replacing Loyola which opted out - suppose a nice check goes along with the likely loss

Leo, BTW, is still scheduled to play D3 Eastern at home the next night. So they likely will have a 25 point loss one night and then a 25 point win the next night.

Lehigh down by 3 against a much taller and more talented Maryland team. Watching on BTN, the Mountain Hawks made a number of layups early on, then bounced back after a scoring drought to close out the half in fine fashion. Maryland looks a bit rusty. Sparse crowd there.

Seems like PL basketball, like PL football, can play with the big boys for parts of the game but fades in the end. Lack of depth?
Yes, I know basically the same number of players in basketball unlike football but the 2nd stringers are higher quality and can wear down the lower tier team.

Lack of talent

So, a team like Maryland, how much less talented are their 7-10 players to their starting 5 and 6th man? Could top flight PL players/team compete (and win?!) if Maryland was playing 6-10 rather 1-5? (Yes, I know they wouldn't do that. This is all theoretical). Discussing team depth here.
As we all know, Ralph's teams took teams better than the current Maryland team down to the wire (Kansas, Kentucky, Marquette). And they were playing their starters because these were "lose and go home games."
Certainly less top to bottom talent in the PL but maybe better coaching in the PL (or, there was in the past, maybe not now?). Didn't watch but posters indicate Lehigh hung with the Terrapins.
Here's the standard for how the PL has fallen this season: if the Crusaders are a top 3 team, we'll know the league has fallen on hard times.
