LaBarbera hits 2 of 2 FTs after a rebound. She has 11 reb on the day....along with 9 points and 8 assists. Coleman cramping and falls to the floor.

Long 3 pt basket for Navy LaBarbera hits 2 of 2 FTs again and has a double-double and is player of the game. HC up 63-53 and that is the final score. Nice away game win indeed...and still room for improvement.

HC better coached in the small details. HC used up clock with a lead, Navy fouls an automatic FT shooter, etc.

The announcer does double duty on Streaming and radio. He does a good job including a post game interview. HC usually has two announcers for just streaming and they still don't take time to interview Coach Nelson after the games🙂.

Nelson doesn't want to do interviews, don't blame the MBB broadcasters.

I don’t remember our announcers interviewing Maureen after any games whether a loss or a win - they should
The navy announcer is very good and I believe also handles their football play by play - he had a very good line last year when our women played at navy - when he announced Addy Cross into the game he said ‘wouldn’t it be great if her middle name was ‘Holly’ ‘

In conference play any win on the road is a good one so certainly will take it. Would love to know how Coleman ended up at Navy, maybe a military background in the family? She's quite a talent. Outside of her I still can't believe how far off Navy has fallen..
Will need to be crisper against the top 3 in the league but good to see players like Cross, Petro, and Demski make an impact. Two more very winnable games home against Loyola and @ Lafayette before the first real test against Lehigh.

Let the word go forth. Holy Cross has a second winning team during the 2021-22 academic year. The 7-5 WBB team. Inform the gloomy Gus contingent that HC athletics is not dead yet.

Avery came close to a triple-double. I thought the announcer said that she had only missed one free throw all season. Haven’t had a chance to check that out yet but that’d be awesome if true. Like RP Jr. Avery is 24 of 25 from the stripe this year. Amazingly she has only had eight fouls called against her in 12 games.

Anything BN does say or do (like the dodgeball game) will be used against him so might as well keep the head down and work.

Magarity and Nelson have the same number of post game interviews after losses - Zero [b The UFC might have the right idea here. They generally interview the winner, not the loser who just had the bleep knocked out of him or her. Of course there is no home team and home broadcaster so it's a little different. I think Dick Lutsk did his best to interview BN and ask the relevant questions but the process wasn't in Nelson's comfort zone during his first season, an historically bad one.

Were all the newcomers on the bench- I saw Berger (35) but not the other two. Davis got in briefly, basically 7 were used (NOT ENOUGH, NEED 8 plus a cameo or two!).

Definitely only 11 players in attendance, couldn't tell if Huber or Munt was the missing player. 2 players, McCormack & I think Munt were sitting at the end of the bench in warmups.

Avery is doing everything great this year except shooting the ball. Her field goal % (especially 3s) is woeful, the worst of her career. She had a great all around game yesterday except for 2-12 from the field.

Looked to me like LaBarbera was rushing her shots. Much of it due to Navy's tough zone D. I missed most of the 1st Q when we took a nice lead. But Navy's D, and Coleman, kept them even after that

AL has never been a particularly good shooter, but does seem to always make timely baskets. Her defense & rebounding and playmaking have always been solid.
